I'm bringing up the subject of...Legal vs. Symbolic ceremony. Who is doing what? Is it easier do the legal thing before you head down for your DW? It seems to me with the little research and threads that I have read it would be ALOT cheaper. I would worry what day we should celebrate our actual anniversay on? If we decide to do it this way (which I'm leaning torwards the more I read) I would do the legal part HUSH HUSH, where only the FI and I were there. No one needs to know the ceremony on the beach is "pretend"! :mswink: What is everyone elses thoughts?
I was considering the same but believe I will just wait and do it one real time, no hurry.

Join popular threads like show us your dress and your rings- this gives you an opportunity to compliment other brides, explore different styles, and boost your forum count. Also- even if you aren't interested in certain hotels- go to those threads anyway. When I first started I was torn between Mexico and DR so I followed a ton of different threads. Regardless of which property you settle on, you can get great ideas from brides in any forum.

Yup almost! BTW I love the Dreams resorts- good choice. They have reasonable prices and they do not skimp on the quality service. We stood in a Secrets in Mexico- which is their adults only resorts but its the same company. I can't wait to return- we swear by that brand of resorts. The overall company is called AMResorts and they own Secrets, Dreams, Zoetry, & Now. I am dying to try Secrets The Vine in Cancun. trying to take my mom there for her 50th. It is absolutely stunning. We originally wanted Mexico but our guests acted like chicken shits about going there and my husbands Dominican family in DR were offended so we had to go with DR as our location lol.

But I'm a big fan of Mexico. GORGEOUS beaches!

We stood at Secrets Capri in Riviera Maya and the food was relish. We liked the Italian restaurant best even though my husband doesn't even like Italian. I had the most delicious risotto and he had duck. The food was amazing! You are going to have such a great time!

Woohooo you made it! LOL open away!

I heard Excellence is amazing. You won't regret that either. My aunt goes every year. I really want to try it. We fancy adult only resorts but couldn't exclude my niece, nephew, and god sister from our ceremony. 2 story suite? OMG I didn't even know.

No problem. I love to chit chat hahaha. My husband is like "babe...we're already married get off the boards." I'm like "but it's my hobby. You have yours. I have mine." LOL plus I have major wedding withdrawal so talking to brides to be is like crack for me haha I sound like I have no life.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
