WE have set the date picked the location but can not send anything out. girl_werewolf.gifgirl_werewolf.gif

FH does not want me to give the save the date letters out to his family when we see them in November for Thanksgiving. His thing is because I still dont have a ring they will tease me for the atleast the next 5-10 years and he doesnt want me to go through that.

I want to get started I guess I can print them up and gather addresses so that when I get the ring. I can mail them out. or I can mail them out after Thanksgiving when we leave.

I want to shout it from the roof tops but He wants to still want to follow ettiquette. girl_werewolf.gifgirl_werewolf.gifgirl_werewolf.gif

Have you guys talked about when you'll get the ring? You can always get a stand-in CZ ring. That's what I'm wearing since mne was stolen -- and NO ONE knows the difference unless I've told them (well, besides, Tom and I, who hate it, but it is what it is). I got my fake one on Sterling Silver Jewelry, CZ Jewelry, Celebrity Imitation Jewelry, and Cubic Zirconia Jewelry from Emitations for $60 and it is awesome.

I had it all planned in my head because we had been talking about getting married in Jamaica for a few years. We got engaged on Saturday, April 21 and I seriously sent my TA an email on Sunday, April 22 to start planning. My friends are still laughing at how nuts I am...

Catherine & Kate, just do as much as you can without the ring and try not to stress too much. When you do get it, it will be soooo exciting and you'll already be so ahead of the game.

If they tease you because of that, well that's just silly!

I agree with Tami, can you get a fake in the meantime? Or will they notice and make a big deal out of it?

It must be frustrating not be able to get a move on plans. Especially for something like a DW, you want to get things done with enough time to spare as possible.

Well you can still print out the letters, put them in envelopes and stamp them right? That way when you get that ring, all you have to do is drop those babies in the mailbox and you're set!

I think Tammy might be right - maybe he is planning a surprise for you :) You have waited sooo long for him to be ready to set a date... give him a couple of months to come up with the ring. That being said, I would just express to him that you want to give people enough time to plan for your wedding, so you need to know what he is planning.

Also, there is plenty you can do besides the save the date cards... why not try and focus on other things like favors, location, flowers, etc...

I got made fun of a lot because I had my wedding planned before we were engaged. I'm a planner, so it drove me nuts that he wouldn't ask the question. But, when he finally did I was SO happy that I hadn't made any official plans. It's a lot less akward :)

The ring will come soon... don't worry :)

Will check out the sight. Thanks.

Well I know it may come atleast Christmas of Valentines day because all money is going towards our son's model debut in January in LA. So everything else was put on hold so I know its coming I just want to be able to give people enough time to plan. So like Jessica said I will print them up and get the envelopes together and stamped so when I get the ring I will just drop them in the mail.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
