Any Beach Palace 2014 brides??

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

I am a June 13, 2014 Beach Palace Bride.  It's been a bit of a roller coaster but we finally have the day finalized and STD's sent out.

We were originally booked at Dreams Cancun but a couple days after we confirmed (and STDs were ordered and sent) I hopped on here and checked the Dreams thread. Turns out the owner sold the place so it's under new management, renovations, etc from April 2014 until Jan 2015.  We talked to the WC there and she said she thought everything would be okay but we cancelled anyway. Noone really knew what was going on and we didn't want half the place shut down for renovations during the wedding week or a whole new staff doing everything.  We were going between 2 places anyway, Dreams and Moon Palace, so we called to book at Moon Palace but they only had a 2p ceremony time available....way too early in the day for me!  So they recommended Beach Palace. Fingers crossed let's hope this one's a keeper!

When I first spoke with a BDW Travel Agent they quoted me some prices and it was $195/pp per night at Moon Palace for their lowest category room. No idea what the prices are for Beach Palace. Anyone know? Or have a TA they recommend. We work in the airline industry so we don't necessarily need flights included for anything, but our family flying from Detroit and Omaha probably will.  Where to start, where to start...?

Hoping to really get a few more ideas going on what I want to do and look at photographers/colors/decor/etc.

Happy Planning Everyone,

Nicole

Hi ladies,

Im thinking about Beach Palace...but I'm having a small wedding...maybe 10 guests.... but I want something very nice/elegant

with small reception/cake/dancing..... I love the pics of the ceremony on the sky terrance with the private reception.

You think the cost is too much for my small group????

Anybody know of a small wedding there??

Sorry I can't answer your question, but the Sky Terrace sold me as well! I suggest contacting the resort wedding department. They were very helpful answering questions even before I booked.

Hi @@beccafries

congrats!

There are lots of smaller weddings at beach palace. I don't think they charge to use the sky terrace like some of the other resorts do. My wedding is pretty large, so I qualified for a lot of free things, but I know you can qualify for free things with smaller groups too.

do you have a travel agent yet? I can send you my agents info, she is amazing and works with lots of palace brides. Her name is Wendy Hicks, there are plenty of mentions of her awesome skills on the beach palace cancun forum.

Let me know and I will send you her info :)

You are allowed to have 20% of your wedding guests purchase a day pass. Will you be paying the day pass fee for your guests who opt to stay at another location or advising them of the fee and that they will be paying it? My fiancée and I don't agree on this one. I feel as though we're already asking a lot to have people attend a destination wedding so we should pay the fee. He feels that with the resort credit and the deals the hotel has to offer, they'd be crazy not to stay there.

Has anyone done (or is planning to do) the complimentary onsite visit? Palace resorts communication with us has been subpar and the whole thing is becoming quite frustrating. We emailed our WC almost a month ago to set it up, she responded the next day asking what dates (mid February) and then we never heard back from her. Our requests at work for our vacation days were due and we both put in for those days. After several phone calls, we finally got ahold of her and she emailed us back saying the days we wanted weren't available so now we're scrambling to get the following week off instead. She also won't conform if its a 3 nights stay or 3 days (i.e. 2 nights). Hoping this is just something to do with the language barrier

I feel very behind on a lot of things and hope to be caught up on a lot of them by the time we do our site visit.

Hope all is well with everyone,

Nicole

Who have you been in contact with there? Kalena was very helpful before I booked. It is a 3 night minimum stay for the complimentary wedding, if that's what you're talking about.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
