Beach ceremony and backyard reception in Kauai

KauaiWedding

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has any ideas about finding a good place to rent out that will allow a small casual backyard reception (approx. 20-30 people). Ideally we'd like to find a place that the wedding party will stay (6-8 people) and then host an intimate bbq or luau. It's been quite difficult finding a place that will allow such event even though it is small. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

We're planning on getting married on a beach by the North Shore. Really like the views of the Napali Coast. Either than Tunnels or Ke'e, any other quiet beach you'd recommend too?

Many thanks!

I'm in the same boat. Any luck for you either of you guys?

I FOUND A PLACE AND HAVE IT BOOK! Its on the east coast, the Coconut coast, about 8miles north of Kapaa. Its a beautiful property!

I am renting the property out for a week in April of 2015, and having the ceremony on the beach infront of the home, and the reception in the back yard. I have rented a tent to accomodate 80 people that will be set up in the back yard, and have hired a caterer for the food and drinks.

I am planning from overseas (canada), which can be a little trying, but so far so good. For those planning after april 2015, I will have supplies...tableclothes, decorations including string lights, candles, ect that will be left on the island with a cousin and available for purchase at a reasonable price!

If anyone has any questions, please ask away!

Hi there Tesa

Thank you for all that amazing information!!! That venue looks amazing :) I am very interested in buying some of your decor as my wedding is in May 2015. I was also wondering if you could let me know who is the caterer you went with.

Thanks again!

Wow that looks perfect.

I too am planing for April 2015 and from Canada.  It's not easy planing from so far away.

About half the guests have already booked at Hanalei Bay and a house like that was our first choice but with everyone coming and going at different times a large house like that doesn't work.  If we could get it for just one night to host the wedding that would be perfect!

Did you rent the tent and stuff from the caterer or from a separate company?  I wanted to do a luau but now need the venue.

What sort of budget are you working with?

Thanks for your help in advance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
