Recommended Posts

Hello ladies!!! I'm just starting the planning process but I'm totally sold on the all inclusive resort thing.. I know this will allow me to relax and enjoy if I know everyone is able to eat and drink it up ! I'm looking for an all inclusive in the cancun area I have recently spoken to people who have recommended the maya area for nicer beaches! I have never been to this part of Mexico but hoping to go in the next couple months! I would love to hear from you ladies to see which resort you choose! I looking for a resort with a drop dead beach for a wedding and possible reception! I also wanted to know it u went through the hotel it's self or a travel agency! Thank you in advance! Britney

Welcome Britney and congratulations on your engagement! To answer some of your questions, the Riviera Maya is an amazing place for weddings! There are so many fabulous resorts where you can eat and drink for one great price. I would start with a great travel agent that can give you a sense of what some of your options are for resorts. The travel agent will take into account your preferences, such as a great beach, prices, whether they allow children, etc. Another thing you can do is to go on the Riviera Maya boards and go on resort-specific threads (e.g. Azul Sensatori) and read up to get more specifics. Everyone on here is so kind and willing to share that I'm sure you'll get great feedback. Personally, I am staying at an all-inclusive resort (Now Jade), but my wedding will be held at a private beach club in Playa Del Carmen. I hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to ask more questions! Again, welcome!

I'm also newly engaged and looking to get married in Cancun! We were considering Cabo at first because it would be a short flight from where we live (San Diego), but we've heard nothing but good things about Cancun (plus you can't go in the beach at Cabo!) I've actually been looking at Now Jade. Let me know if you're going through a travel agent, I need a suggestion for a good one. The one I've been initially communicating with does not get back to my emails fast enough and it's very stressful when you're trying to plan a destination wedding!

Congratulations again!

If you are looking at Mexico, I'm going to the Excellence Playa Mujeres right after my wedding in Jamaica (Hey, we need some alone time.) And the resort looks amazing. However it's adults only. But, if you are not planning on bringing children, I would highly reccomend this place.

Congratulations on your engagement! IBEROSTAR resorts are fabulous and great for all ages! They even have some hotels at the same resort for adult only and then ones geared more towards families, so it has something for everyone! I have been to IBEROSTAR Pariso and Maya which is in the Rivera Maya and they were beautiful! I beleive they just opened one in Cancun last year too :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
