Blue Venado Brides---post here!!

Joyce you will have to speak with personally but she was reasonable :) I got a planner as myself personally, I cannot handle all the vendors from up here in Canada. Joyce has a personal relationship with quite a few of them down there and can negotiate prices for you and ensure everything goes to plan. She made the wedding planner very seamless and that is saying a lot from someone who is a neurotic, Type A personality :) She has done quite a few weddings at BV as well and has a extremely good relationship with Sofia and everyone there.

Honestly, with the décor, you don't need too much. I didn't go overboard and was so happy I didn't as the venue itself is so gorgeous. Blue Venado has options for décor and different packages, as well as you can go outside vendors like Arte Velas (candle and lighting company) or flowers.

We stayed at the Bahia principe Akumal, which was a 25 minute drive away from the venue. We used Rutas Hispanics to transport our guests there.

We got ready at the resort and then headed over to the Blue Venado :)

Aww ! Thanks for answering my questions! :D

Have you received any sneak pictures of your wedding or a teaser video?

Awwww! Great photos :D Congratulations :D :D

Your dress was beautiful ! Great pick on your groom's outfit, too!

Are you still waiting for your edited photos or do you have any more to share of the venue itself?

Did you notice any sand bugs or mosquitos at Blue Venado?

Is it true that the entire ground is sand, and you have to rent a dance floor, if you want a floor?

And washrooms, what were those like? haha

Again, thank you for answering all my questions! I really appreciate it :D

Thank you! You are very sweet :)

waiting on edited photos. We literally just got back Wednesday and my sister in law (she is a professional photographer) just got back last night. I will definitely have some to share within a month or so and will give you the link and/or send when I have them.

However, if you are on facebook, look up Blue Venado Weddings on there, as they have quite a few photos! :)

Did not notice any bugs or anything there, not even at our resort either - I was concerned about this because I heard it was a bad year for mosquitos but didn't get bit once.

Entire ground is sand, our guests loved it. You don't have to rent a dance floor as they have a little area where you can dance at the back of the palapa, we just wanted a big dance floor area for our guests.

Washrooms were good - I know there were some complaints with the men's washrooms as the sewage wasn't working properly but that could be on some of the guests. You're not supposed to flush down toilet paper and I think some people were doing so.  This would be the only complaint really but honestly, I am sure they will figure it out before your wedding. :)

Sounds perfect!

I think we will also be getting a dance floor in order to accommodate some of our older guests.

Did you use Party Planet for yours?

I bet you wish you were still down there!! You must be on such a high from your wedding -- I always feel that way after a vacation, but I can't imagine how it would feel after a vacation and a destination wedding.

Can't wait to see more photos ;)

And if you think of anything else, that might be meaningful to planning, please let me know :D

I did, however they ended up giving us the wrong one so make sure you get the one you ordered! We ended up getting the acrylic one when we paid for the crystal one, so if you do go ahead with ordering it from them, make sure you make sure LOL.

Definitely on a high and a relief that all the wedding and stress is over. I'm happy to be home though, enjoying the quiet and we missed our dog a lot :)

Can't think of anything right now but seriously, PM me if you have any questions!

I saw a recent photo that had a wood floor at one side of the palapa ... I guess it was just a wood dance floor that they rented.

At least there's more photos of the venue ;)

I am going to try and PM you now ;)

That wood "dance" floor is always there. it's a little deck like thing that's actually quite a big size if you didn't want to rent. I'll see if I can post of picture of our first dance to show it.post-239790-0-14920700-1416867877_thumb.jpg

I am so excited! We just booked a trip to Mexico to do a site visit of our resort in March. We will also plan to visit BV to get an idea of the location and what they offer, to compare to the resort!! WOOHOO

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
