Thanks so much for posting this! I have a wonderful planner that I trust, but I will not be visiting BV until a few days before the wedding!!  Seeing posts like this from another professional helps to reassure me and other brides that this is a quality location with professional staff who know exactly what they're doing.  If you have any tips to pass along about this location, I am sure that all of us brides would love to hear them!

Riviera Maya offers beautiful places and this is one of them. We couldnt agree more there is a lot to love about this location, Food is yummy and the service outstanding plus the location is secluded.

Beautiful Brides to be, you have chosen a beautiful location. Anymore questions you are more than welcome to PM or email us at weddingsinplayadelcarmen@gmail.com

Hello everyone!  I'm considering BV as a venue for our wedding.  We originally decided on Grand Palladium, but then we found terrible reviews of the actual resort from travel agents... so then we opted for Paradisus but their vendor fees are outrageous and they have horrible communications problems so now we're just thinking about trying to spend a little extra if we can and have it here!  I've emailed them and hopefully they will get back to me soon.  Does anyone know what the turnaround time is for them to email back?

Also, is there a big deposit and do you have to only use their vendors?

Hello asstaats83,

You have chosen a beautiful location,  BV his a super flexible location they have options that can include basic decor and obviously you can use their equipment.

When it come to the deposit, you usually make the deposit based on the menu you have selected and number of guests OR what most of our brides have opt to pay $2000 usd to lock up their date and then select the menus later on in their planning.

You have the option to bring in any vendor at no extra cost.

Hope this helps and feel free to PM or email at weddingsinplayadelcarmern@gmail.com

Happy Planning

The BV has has covers attached to the Palapa so in case of rain they unfold them and host everything inside the palapa.

Hope this was helpful.

Happy Planning!

We want the premium open bar for all night but it's an additional $80. What are you doing for alcohol? I'm going to ask BV if we can bring our own alcohol, if there is a charge and if we have to get a bartender.

Hi,

Sorry, I haven't been on here much and just saw this now!

We decided against the buffet and I think were are going to do the menu gourmet sit down dinner?

For the tasting:

Shrimp Bisque With Crostini Goat's Cheese and Fried Leeks

Filet mignon coated in fine herbs bathed in a creamy mushroom sauce

And one of the deserts but I can't remember what :(

We loved the shrimp bisque and we will most likely have that.

I liked the steak but truthfully my fiancee did not at all. The quality of the meat wasn't that great but I am not a big steak eater, which is why I probably didn't mind it. FI is one of those guys who is all about steaks and did remind me we did have quite a few of guests as well. So, were leaning towards another option for the main course.

Honestly, we are still up in the air! The menu is so big , it's kinda making it hard to choose!

For the alcohol, we debated on this as well! But I think were pretty solid on just going with the Medium. While the premium does have a a wider selection, we compared the two and figure the medium has a pretty good brands. Most of our friends are mixed vodka drinkers so Absolut and sky Vodka works for that lol.

We didn't get the prices for bringing in alcohol. I'd be interested to hear those prices!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
