Did she offer any sister hotels? Just curious if you don't mind sharing.

Mine was gonna be the day before, May 7th. Unfortunately we booked the entire travel portion rooms/flights just about a week and a half ago! Makes for a lot more trouble than if we hadn't booked the travel part already.....uggggghhhh :msncry:

Hi, I've been following this thread for a while now as my daughter's wedding has been booked at Dreams Cancun for quite sometime now. Her wedding was to be held on May 9. We have not heard anything from the resort yet, but my TA found out Dreams Cancun was being sold, and that Apples Vacations would not be booking this resort anymore as of April 19 or 20. This is all she knows at this time. My daughter had her heart set on getting married in the gazebo. She is going to be broken heart-ed. We also have already booked everything with the TA. Now sure how to proceed. If anyone finds out more info, please update us so we can move forward with new plans.  Thank you all so much for sharing all your experiences and wedding planning.

Oh my goodness! This is terrible for you guys! I'm so sorry you're dealing with this! If you have signed a contract with them for the wedding they should honor it at another Dreams or even Now resort in the area! I checked out Now Jade and it's great if you need comparable options. Beach isn't as blue and big but resort is lovely.

We are swapping the cocktail hour and the groom as well as the groomsmen are wearing khaki linen pants with white linen button down shirts with their sleeves rolled up as well as matching leather flip flops. http://theguayaberashirtstore.com/ is the website they are from. However, we got lucky because his warehouse is here in Austin so we could try on. He was also willing to give a discount for multiple orders.

Thanks for the link. What are you swapping the cocktail hour for?

Yes I spoke to my TA and she said the resort is switching management in April and the weddings that are to take place BEFORE the management switch will be okay but after April are cancelled or are switched to a sister property. I'm so sorry for everyone that is having their wedding switched/cancelled :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
