Prices in Riu Ocho Rios

Recommended Posts

We're flying out of Vancouver May 22, 2008 and our guests are paying $2150 each all taxes, transfers, etc. included, For Junior Suites it's about $150 more per person for the week....I think you will get a better deal once you enter into a group booking which we had to have a minimum 10 people to get the special rates.

I hope this helps you! Good luck with all your planning!! It's such a great site here!!!!

Yea! I'm getting married on May 19th, and will be there from 14th - 20th, and then at Couples from 20th - 25th.

Our prices were:

For us - $2200 per person, for 6 nights at the Riu and 5 nights at Couples, including airfare from Columbus, Ohio. These are for the oceanview rooms.

Our guests are paying $1060/per person for 4 nights/5 days at the Riu, including airfare from Columbus, Ohio. This was part of a group discount.

Hope this helps!

It looks like we are paying about the same

I am getting married over christmas so my guests are paying 2600 pp from Calgary AB, direct flight.

I see on travelocity, expedia etc the trip for our dates is not 2100ish, but we all booked long ago to make sure we could go.

I found differences with the bonuses from agent to agent.

after 10-20 people booked (depending on the agent) you should get a free person or some give you a dollar amount of credit.

Also Riu/other resorts give extra incentives and discounts depending on the time of year, adn hoe farin advance you book, how far in advance the trip is paid up. IE free room up grades, kids free, $ off etc.

We are going at Christmas and not only are we paying a higher fee, we dont get any furhter discounts sad.gif

My FH an I are going to Rio Ocho Rios DEC 22 for a week then to Couples swept away staying in the highest room catagory, and paid 10,000 for both of us for the 2 weeks

I hope this helps

FYI ladies:

I just noticed on the Riu site concerning the upgrades (I dont know if they just added the latter part or not):

* Complimentary room upgrade subject to availability upon arrival (External Jacuzzi Suites are not included) thatswck.gif

So it may be good that you have already booked the jacuzzi suite!

I don't understand how they can change things after we book!! That makes me nervous about other things they may change to the packages! Seems like they wouldn't be able to do that after you book, only for people who book after they make the changes... but what can be done to make sure you get what it says when you actually book??smile35.gif

Maybe if someone printed off the package from the webpage with the time/date stamp on the page, then I would think they would have to honor it. Other than that, this may be something to ask Chandlyn about if you're counting on getting this upgrade.

Does anyone know if they just added the info about the external jacuzzi or its always been there and I just overlooked it?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
