For those of you still looking for invitation boxes...

Recommended Posts

I have been driving myself completely nuts looking for mailing boxes for my invitations. First, I couldnt find non-corrugated ones that I thought would ship well. Then, I couldnt find my size (the backing of my invite is 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 which I guess is a weird size). FINALLY, I dont know how, but I cam across this website:

-Colored Boxes: www.centralpack.com

I L-O-V-E the "Lux Luster Colored Mailers" because it's got a really nice finish and they come in beautiful colors! Most importantly, they have my sizesmile159.gif

To you ladies reading this and thinking "wow, this girl really needs to get a life" ... I know, I am sad.... but I am spending so much time, effort, and money on my invitations that I really wanted the boxes to be just as nice. Also, FMIL is holding strong that she wants the addresses caligraphied, so I needed boxes that were "fancy" enough for a personalized caligraphy label....

Finally, I can stop staying up to all hours trying to find these damn things fryingpan.gif

I’m sure no one here thinks you are crazy for knowing what you want. You are working hard to make sure everything is just right. Did you order the boxes in a specific color?

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this!! YAY! I too, have been searching for box mailers and am definitely going to order these!

A few questions about your invites: Are you planning to "seal" the boxes with anything? Also, will your invitations sit in any sort of filler? And, finally, what size did you order??

Thanks!! Jackie

I am ordering them in "luxe white" for the invitations :) Also, I really like the idea of letting our guests take left-over wedding cake back to their rooms, so I might get the "luxe pink" for that as well

I feel like you and I have been looking for invitation boxes for quite some time. Yay for finally finding them! cheer2.gif

So the sealing thing has become a bit of an issue because I really don't want to put any tape or anything on the boxes. As of right now, I have narrowed my options down to 2:
1. dab some hot glue on the flaps/sides of the cover to keep them in there during shipping
2. designing some sort of wrap around label thing that is nice enough to be caligraphied

Once the boxes come in, I will decide. I think it's going to depend on how nice the finish of the box is (ie, whether its nice enough to just caligraphie the boxes directly).

Sizing: also an issue because the invite backing I am using is a weird size (8.5 by 5.5), so I am trying to decide if the 8.75 x 6.25 x 1.25 is big enough. If I decide it's not, I will need to use the 9 x 6.5 x 2.75... really, I just need to locate a ruler and figure this out!

Filler: If I go with the smaller box, I will probably fold tissue paper around the invitation to protect the starfish. However, if I go withthe larger box, I will need serious filler because it's damn near 3 inches deep! I'm planning on tying the invite with raffia string, so maybe fill the bottom with raffia?!?! I would def like to hear some suggestions on that smile72.gif

Yes, I have been looking forever and am so happy to have finally found these! Thanks, again :)

I was thinking of sealing them with a round sticker of our logo/monogram. Not sure if it will look right, though?! As a fallback, I like your idea of hot glue on the inside.

Filler - I was thinking of using raffia as well, only the "curly" raffia. I chose the luxe white boxes, too. Love them! Now I need to get my ruler out to see which size to choose.

Thanks for all your help! jackie

Hmm, I like the idea of a round stick. Are you thinking of using a small one or really big (Paper Source has 5 inch ones that are pretty cool, but might be too much). I think I'll probably make the decision once I have all the pieces put together.

Where do you find curly raffia? I haven't seen that on the million and one websites I have been on :)

Thanks for the website! smile123.gif I've been looking for boxes to let guests take home slices of cake, too! I'm a little late reading this post --- have you gotten your boxes yet? If you have, do you think they'll work for cake? I think it would be super-cute to have those and then pretty tissue paper squares and ribbon ... I found some Martha Stewart baked good boxes, but they were more than I wanted to spend ... the prices on this website are so much more reasonable than the ones that I've been coming across. It's also nice that the bulk quantity is 50 instead of 100 since our wedding is going to be small! Thanks again!!

Hi! I am still getting the boxes, but I haven't ordered them yet. I just started working and I have sort of put everything wedding related on hold. Also, my RSVP date to my guests was last week so I am expecting ot have the final count by the end of November. Once I know how many I need, I will order... i will definitely repost once I get them! If you order them before me, please let me know how they look - I was so excited to find them, I can't wait to see them!

Absolutely! I may go ahead and order them ... they are seriously the best price I've seen! I'll let you know if I do! Thanks again for the post!

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
    • So we are currently looking for an all inclusive resort for the wedding. We have 60 guests and found all the Dreams resorts as options and all of them gave us a quote and discounted price since it’s off season etc. Resorts in Punta Canta gave us a reasonable price, Dominicus gave us a really good deal then La Romana Resort and Spa gave us their regular price and so hard to negotiate. Will someone tell us how special is this resort that they won’t give us a good discount when all my guests are staying in their resort for 5-8 days. We are bringing $$$ in their resort and not give us a discount?  What is so special with this resort?  Can somebody recommend a beautiful resort?
