Bride and groom pictures at the reception??

Recommended Posts

Question for the bdw brides - the traditional wedding reception normally has a picture of bride and groom at the entrance of the reception. For those of us who has a destination wedding, how do you plan on having the picture place? Do you plan to have any at all? With the picture In a big frame, how do you manage to get it to your destination? Please help!

I am not planning on having this at all. I AM planning on having a sign on the guest book table that is fairly large - but not as big as you are talking about - that my bm used - and then gave me - for my shower. It says "Sandy toes and salty kisses" which is also on our website, and is all distressed and such. Our guestbook is a photobook of us too, so I think that eliminates the need for a big picture. Besides, I have been to lots of local weddings lately that do not use that big picture.

If you wanted to, you could do something similar to my sign - a larger picture - maybe 8 x 10 or larger - on a guestbook table or something like that. If you did a photo-wrapped canvas and wrapped it in clothing in your suitcase, that would probably be fine and a good way to transport it.

If it helps at all, I've been to lots of weddings recently and not one had the big picture of the bride and groom. I think that's slowly becoming a thing of the past. There are lots of cute things you can do to incorporate pictures into your wedding/reception. Look on Pinterest, there are some great ideas on there! Happy planning!

I haven't seen it being used anymore for some reason.  I have seen people use a smaller picture around the cake table or the card box.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
