Hey Ladies,

I am a May 2014 bride.  We are staying at the Iberostar Rose Hall Grand but we are getting married at a venue off the resort called Hummingbird Hall (our preferred date was already booked at the resort).  Have you given any thought as to how you're going to transport all your wedding stuff - namecards, programs, attendant gifts, OOT bag stuff, cake topper, toasting glasses, etc?

My fiance and I went on a 4 day vacation to Chicago last weekend and packed two suitcases just for that...lol!  We are now stressed about how the heck we're going to pack for a 10-day trip AND our wedding...YIKES!

Also, we've sent our Save the Dates, but invitations haven't gone out yet...when is everyone planning on sending theirs?

Thanks,
Kat

I have definately given it thought, but haven't quite come up with an answer! The best thing I have come up with is using family to help transport! I have my parents, both my siblings and their spouses, as well as my fiance's parents and siblings on the same flight, so I think they are all just going to have to pack an extra suitcase designated soley to wedding stuff! We sent out our save the dates with specific travel information 11 months in advance, since my travel agent warned us that the Iberostar often sells out. Since our save the dates had the travel information, we are going to stick to etiquette and send out the invitations about 8 weeks in advance. When is your wedding date? Mine is May 24th, 2014! As far as your OOT bags go, what are you planning on putting in there? So far I have the beach totes (Oriental Trading, can't decide if we are going to personalize them yet), beach balls (Oriental Trading), 2-packs of Tylenol (Amazon), Chapstick brand lip balm (Amazon), personalized labels for Chapstick (Etsy), travel size Aloe Vera (Amazon). Since the Resort is all-inclusive, I don't want to waste money on bottled water, snacks, etc. I may do a beach towel as well if I can find them for a good enough price in bulk!

I am getting married on May 24th, 2014! Has anybody started actually planning the details with Loreto like flowers, cake, photographer, etc.? She told me we won't really get into that until about 2 months before the wedding. My concern is that if the Resort has multiple vendors to choose from for each thing(which I don't know if that is true or not), I don't want my preferred choice to already be booked because I didn't start planning the details until 2 months before the wedding. What are you ladies doing for OOT bags? So far I have the beach totes (Oriental Trading), beach balls (Oriental Trading), travel size aloe vera (Amazon), travel size sun screen (Amazon), 2-packs of Tylenol (Amazon), Chapstick brand lip balm (Amazon), personalized label for lip balm (Etsy), and door hangers that say "Shhh! Do not disturb! We partied all night at Kristina and Cody's wedding" (Etsy). I might do a beach towel if I can find them for a good price in bulk. I don't want to waste money on bottled water, booze, or snacks since the Resort is all inclusive, but I don't feel like I have thought to fill the bags. Any other ideas? I only have about 3 kids coming but for the kids I bought sand buckets and sand toys (Target $1 spot). P.S. I posted all of this a couple hours ago but I can't find my post, so I am posting again. If you see a duplicate, disregard! I'm new to forums!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
