Hello Ladies,
I did the running of the brides today. I got up at 3AM to take the train from DC to NJ to participate. I was on-line by 7am and was one of the first 100 to get inside. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the dress of my dreams. I am glad to be able to say I had the experience, but I just didn't find the "it" dress that made me say 'wow'. There were plenty to choose from in all sizes, but since I know exactly what I'm looking for (drop waist/fit & flare, strapless, with some beadazzlement) So, my search continues. If you have any ideas, please feel free to provide desginer and style numbers!
Notice: The site will be offline this Saturday evening (4/21/18) for a major software update. Thank you in advance for your patience while upgrade to a new-improved version of BDW.

I have never heard of running of the brides before… what is it? I must say when I read the title of the post I pictured a bunch of ladies running a marathon with white t-shirts, shorts and veils on!

So for those that asked what it is, its where Filene's Basement has a bunch of designer dresses that they sell for price points of $700 or less, but they are worth thousands!
You line up and when they open the door everyone runs in and justs grabs. BUT, after about 20 minutes a good number of the dresses are back on the racks and women are walking around trading sizes and styles.
A lot of women had success and you know because you'd hear bursts of cheering and clapping which meant someone had found their dress. Unfortunately, I just was not one of those ladies today.
As for bridezillas, there were a few, and some of the mothers of the brides were even worst, but overall it was a fine experience.
THE DRESS I'M LOOKING FOR...when I say fit and flare or drop waste, I mean it has a longer toro and is fitted all the way to the middle of the hip (as oppossed to stopping at the waist). I like this style because it shows my figure just enough. I would like a moderate A line skirt (not too poofy). So the good thing is, I know what I want, but the challenge is, I haven't found it just yet ;-) Let me know if you have suggestions.

I just got my dress from Priscilla of Boston and it is the fit and flare I think that you are referring to. In the store it originally had straps and two bows right on the front, but I am having those removed and it will be strapless. The dress is posted on here under my forum that says bought the dress.
*REMOVED DUE TO EXCESSIVE SIZE*
