Jamaica Wedding 2014

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!!

I am recently engaged and trying to plan my destination wedding in Jamaica Nov 2014.  I am trying to find a venue and have a really tough time! I want some amazing! Cliff side or on the beach.  I just don't want my guests to go broke paying for a room.  I tried everywhere in Negril and the rooms are so expensive.  I am thinking I may have 55-65 people.  Any suggestions on anywhere on the Island would be most helpful!!

Thanks!!!

Leslie

Hi and Congratulations on your engagement. I've searched several locations from Montego Bay to Negril.  Check out Negril Escape for cliff side as they seem to offer several locations that can accommodate larger parties.  I am attaching a link that offers an array of locations in Negril for both the beach and the cliffs, hopefully this helps.

Hey, I'm getting married in December 2014, and I had such a tough time trying to get a venue!!! Most of our guests are living on the island, and don't need a room.... so a lot of hotels were out of the question, because the require a certain amount of rooms to be booked... so unfair. We looked at hummingbird hall, in Montego bay

http://www.hummingbirdhall.com

We also looked at a private villa in Negril called llantrasant

http://www.beachcliff.com

There was also Rhodes hall plantation in Orange bay ( just outside Negril) and Sandy Haven in Negril, and Seawind resort in Negril, also grand pineapple in Negril ( those 3 are on the 7 mile beach) and as far as I know they don't have a minimum amount of rooms to be booked, or a minimum amount of nights either.

We've just booked Seawind resort in in Negril :-) so excited!!! :-) :-)

Hope some of that was useful :-)

Congratulations!  I am also getting married in Jamaica.  After lots of searching and reading reviews we decided to get married at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites near Montego Bay in Nov this year =)  If you haven't already looked it is definitely a resort to look into!  Happy Planning!

I had my wedding on the beach at Charela Inn, and they didn't require a certain number of rooms to be booked. In fact, we had reservations at another resort, and only booked our honeymoon night at Charela. EVERYTHING was perfect from the private beach, to the excellent 5-course dinner, to the candlelight dancing. Sophie and staff made certain me and my 30 guests had a wonderful experience. Also, Isabelle Stewart is a must have if you need a wedding coordinator. She is affiliated with this resort.

@@AYC house your planning going.n

I'm getting married there next year. Trying to decide if I want the wedding on the beach or not

I feel like I am doing everything backwards....

final payment for guests is due at the end of the month and then we will have our numbers next month so the real planning can begin.

So far just looking into key card holders for oot/welcome bags.  Have my favours made, centrepieces are coming together.  What month are you getting married?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
