This is one way to make a postcard using powerpoint and photoshop. You could make it in just photoshop. I just prefer to work with powerpoint.

*Don't forget- don't pay full price at vista print. Go through a link like www.vistaprint.com/minicatalog for good prices. Slow shipping usually just takes 2 weeks not 11 like they estimate.

Insert->picture->from file

Click the image to open in full size.

Insert->textbox

Draw->group

Click the image to open in full size.

Right click->save as (save it as a jpg not enhanced media file)

Click the image to open in full size.

Open in photoshop (this is photoshop elements v2)

Image -> Resize-> Image size

Unclick “constrain proportions”

Set to 300 pixels

Width=1677 Height= 1300

Remember about ¼ inch from the edges will get cropped.

Click the image to open in full size.

BUMP

I can't believe no one posted about this, these are great directions, Morg! Thanks!

I needed to know this for when we use them to make our reply postcards, altho I've done the postcards there, it is nice to know a cooler way to get a neat pic with text that I actually like! Thanks!

I posted this in October when I was still getting comfortable with photoshop. I was much more familiar with powerpoint. Using a program like photoshop or lumapix to make the whole thing is better. That way you don't lose resolution with powerpoint & have to add it back with photoshop. It works, but it's better to avoid doing that.

My postcards turned out great following these steps, I just know it's not the best way to go about doing this. It's funny for me to see these old threads. It feels like it was so long ago I started learning how to do this stuff, but it was only 6 months ago.

that never happens to me, but I've heard other people say thats a problem they have with powerpoint. do you have photoshop? you could make the whole thing in photoshop & not have that problem.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
