Hi girls,

I am getting married November 1, 2013. The only time they had open was 2pm :( Are any of you getting married that early in the day? I feel that is too early for a sit down dinner? The wedding coordinator said that most people break for a few hours in between the ceremony and reception and come back for dinner and dancing. That sounds strange to me.

I am looking to bring my own decorations for the wedding. Is it really that much cheaper? Any decor suggestions for a BOHO themed wedding?

thanks for your help in advance,

Tami

Hello Tami,

Congrats in your upcoming wedding.

Unfortunately due to the many weddings performed in the AI hotels it is usual to have a break of hours after the ceremony which i found weird too.  In that case you might ask your on site wc at the Hotel to have your ceremony after sunset, perhaps it is already dark but I would prefer 1000 times to have a romantic ceremony on the dark where you can illuminate with lots of candles that at 2 pm. under the sun and with a really hot weather.  BUT I understand if you do not.

For your photo session you can have it just before sunset and then godirectly to your ceremony.  It could be more expensive because you will have to invest in lighting for the Gazebo and in candles but I think it could be very romantic and a better option.

I am attaching a 2 photos of our night ceremonies.

Regarding the deco, you can PM me and I will be happy to send you our catalogue, perhaps you find something for your BOHO wedding.

Best Regards,

Hey Tami,

2pm is definitely a toughie... it can be quite intensely hot during that time.  If changing your time is not an option, make sure there are plenty of non-alcoholic beverages available and shade where the guests will be sitting.  Remember that with the natural beauty that surrounds you, minimal decoration is necessary (think earthy canvas sashes and mason jar candles against the vivid blues of the ocean and the deep green jungle!).

Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
