When Do You Give Your Guests Their OOT Bags?

Recommended Posts

Good ideas, I'm trying to decide what to do for ours. Our guest are arriving all different days

Hi there fellow Moon Palace bride! I know this thread is a few months old but I was just wondering if you ever figured out how you're going to hand out your bags? We are also having our guests arrive on different days - from the day before we get there to the day before the wedding. I'm guessing I will try to hand them out the first full day we are there by going room to room and then get everyone else as they arrive? I'm nervous about having the resort hand them out since I've seen mixed reviews on this... I appreciate any insight you've had!

Our wedding is on a Monday. Majority of guests arriving on Saturday, welcome dinner on Sunday. Dreams Riviera Cancun charges $3/bag to deliver to rooms, so forget that!

My fiancé and I were going to greet all guests in the lobby as they arrived (coordinating this with travel agent/wedding planner) and give the bags out then. We had a change of heart though during our site visit when we arrived: hot, sweaty, tired, carrying all our luggage..So we are still going to meet them upon arrival, but probably go to each individual's room and give it then. I didn't want to wait until Sunday night because I want guests to use the stuff as soon as possible!

We are giving out before we go because of a few reasons: space in luggage, getting taxed again for importing them in and (a rare but possible scenario) potential confiscation. I've read some horror stories and aren't going to risk it! Here is a pic of ours that I'm delivering today and tomorrow. For those not a drive away we sent on Friday so they received them yesterday or will on Monday.

We were also going to arrange to give them out in the lobby as each guest arrives, but after an early morning flight the last thing you really want is one more thing to carry. We still plan on meeting our guests in the lobby as most of them are actually arriving on the same flight. We are hosting a welcome cocktail party that night so I think that is when we will hand them out. Gives people some time to shower and relax and get in vacation mode while still giving it to them the first day of the trip so it can be utilized.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
