When Do You Give Your Guests Their OOT Bags?

Recommended Posts

It's such a dilemma because if I was a guest, and I received something in Mexico once I arrive as a little welcome gift, I would feel like they've gone above and beyond in planning so I'd feel welcomed. But at the same time, holy man it's a lot to bring down! haha... I'm going to mail out the luggage tags with a flyer of a schedule of our wedding week. And then maybe give them just the beach towels and key/tip holders when we're there at the welcome dinner on our first night there. I think I'm going to opt out of the minibus stuff because I really don't think it'll be used and it all adds up! What's in your oot bags?

Ideally I'd want the resort to put it in each room but if they charge I'm going to go with handing them out at the welcome dinner. I don't want to complicate myself with too much to pack so I'm limiting the OOT bag contents to a few things from here and 1 or 2 things I can buy locally (was thinking little tequila bottles and shot glasses)?

I've been trying to figure this out too.  But I was told that with our hotel it was better to deliver them ourselves.  I have lots of younger siblings who are going to deliver them for us.

I think I've settled on handing them out to people at the Welcome Dinner the night we arrive. Just because we won't know when they'll be in their rooms, etc. We got the Presidential Package at our resort which gives the Bride and Groom priority check in services. So hopefully that will allow me enough time to check in and quickly package the stuff together during the time the rest of the gang are checking in. Thanks for all your wonderful ideas!

Same ideas as me! I plan on handing mine out at the welcome bon fire we will be having for our guests. The bon fire will be after dinner. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
