Sandals "photography partners" and a few other ?'s

Recommended Posts

Same thing in Jamaica as well,if you want more time each hour is an additional $300!!! That is why I'm bringing my own photographer Rayn.....

So - I haven't read through all the post on here.... but based on the title I thought I'd throw some info in..... I am getting married at a Sandals in St. Lucia... on the Sandals website there are two "partner" photographers listed... I emailed on about pricing I simply asked for a price list. I got a reply asking where I am having my wedding and how many family/friends I will have attending. I replied saying that I hadn't booked anything yet and I have 20 people in my group. I received a full price list with details of each available package. I then got another email saying that if I am staying at a Sandals they only offer a 4 hour $2000 package. They have have a 4 hour package on the normal price list that is less money and comes with unlimited pictures (the sandals has an up to amount of photos) I thought that was odd - not sure if every "partner" has limited packages available or if it is just this one... worth looking into  if you are considering this. :D

Yeah I am pretty sure it was $300 per additional hour - which was up to 50 more images....

Your bringing a professional or someone you know is coming to do it for you?

Hey I have another questions... someone else was just recommending these photographers to me.   Does the package you get come with and prints and/or albums or anything like that? Or do you get a cd of all the images?

I booked Alan Smith and just received my pictures, they are beautiful. However we had photosession with on site photogs and didn't like it. We picked only 2 pictures after 30 mins photosession. If you'd like samples of mine I can email privately. AS was $3100, 4hrs and we received around 700 shots.

Hi I was just married in Negril about a month ago and also used a preferred partner (not Alan as he didn't get back to me in time) and was just wondering if the 700 shots were quoted in your contract with him or if u payed for extra photos. I am having difficulty getting all of my photos and am being told u need to choose just 200 photos out if all the photos she took . I was also told we would have a sandals photographer in our wedding day, and he never showed. Thanks

Hi Emme, Alan gave me all shots he did. I don't remember how many but its a lot. We didn't even use them all for our album. He uploads all his photos to password protected page on his website and sends beautifully decorated box with CD. No album which was fine with me because I like to make my own albums. And no, I didn't have to pay anything extra, Alan gave me all shots at no additional cost. I also didn't want them to be edited since I am graphic designer and can do my own edits. Sorry you are having problems. Sandals photographers stroke me as highly unprofessional. Pictures we took with our regular camera came out better than their. Edited by Masha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
