There is a chance that I'm going to try to do my wedding in early May (I was planning on a year from now, but I may move it up) and will need guests to book the hotel asap so that I can block more rooms if necessary before they all book up, and thus I will need to do a very quick STD. How do I do something quick and still be effective yet elegant/fun? Do I do a paper STD and include info about a webpage & TA? Has anyone done anything last minute like this?

mine weren't necessarily last minute, but it didn't take long to create and get them shipped - I used Vista Print - as did a lot of girls on here! you could do a card, or a magnet or something.

Yes, you can absolutely do a paper STD directing your guests to your website & TA for more info. That is exactly what i did for mine! I printed my STDs on 90lb card stock paper with a color laser jet printer.

Why not check out a card store (I have a papyrus near me, but Hallmark or Carlton Cards works too) that has "print at home" cards? Some of th designs are beautiful, and it is definitely an inexpensive and quick option:

Note Cards - Stationery - Papyrus

I know the stores have so many more to choose from :)

Thanks for the vista print tip - I'll look there and maybe do some quick other research asap...

I did my boarding pass save the dates VERY quickly, but nobody knows that. I designed them one evening, had them printed the next, and then cut them out, folded them, and mailed them. I was done within a week.

I was going to say Target also! I saw some cute Save the Date cards there on clearance just last week.

If you decide to use VistaPrint, be sure to use a coupon. Do a search for coupon codes or post on here, cuz you can usually get the stuff for free.

Thanks guys! My sis told me she did hers on word, but nice paper, printed them out, and that was that - which reminded me that I did the same for her bridal shower invites (although I made them all pretty and fancy) - I guess I should look at some designs over the wknd and figure it out! Turns out I'm going down for site visit at end of Nov, so as long as I have the basic format saved, I hope to print (or order) and send as soon as I get back (and people will have 5 months, which isn't much, but everyone I know would have procrastinated with travel plans anyhow! This is assuming things don't get booked up by then .
