I bought my dress 12 months in advance, there's quite the delay for ordering sometimes so it's not too early!

Hi Guys

These are a few great thread/links that will assist with everything in planning your wedding and will of course help you reach 150 quicker - must let you know when you reach 150 the permissions don't happen over night.

Post Your Wedding Date

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/9132/post-your-wedding-date/630

If you go onto the thread/link, ensure you go to the bottom of the thread then copy and paste it then enter your wedding date and the name of the hotel / location.  That way all other brides can see who is getting married dates close to them.

It is handy too as some brides have then shared cost of flying photographers down rather than using Arrecife the onsite photographers or local ones (you then have to pay a visitors day pass)

Anyone used Arrecife Photography at Gran Bahia Principe Tulum/Akumal/Coba

Arrecife Studio Mexico, WEG

This is their website address http://www.arrecifestudio.com

Arrecife have a facebook page too that has photos, videos and feedback from brides and guests that had photo sessions at the hotel.

We used them for our wedding day and love them all – yes costly but compared to wedding photography prices at home a bargain for what we got.

GENERA L INFORMATION FOR GETTIGN MARRIED IN MEXICO

Bride & Groom must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the ceremony.

Bride and Groom & 4 witnesses (2 each) must arrive to their hotel minimum of 4 business days prior to the legal wedding ceremony date in order to complete and process the necessary documents and for the Bride and Groom to get the blood tests carried out.  NOTE Saturday and Sunday are not considered working days.

BLOOD TESTS  to determine blood type, HIV and STD also to confirm you are not related!   They must be taken in Mexico.   Blood test costs are separate from all the wedding packages, we were $180 US dollars for the 2 of us - this has to be paid cash at the medical centre, its located at the Hacienda within the hotel.

BIRTH CERTIFICATES WHEN BRIDE & GROOM ARE SINGLE and their last names match to their parents name & passports no more documentation is needed but Birth Certificate, Passport & Tourist cards. Ask your wedding coordinator after sending the marriage application.

If a bride or grooms former spouse is deceased then a copy of their death certificate is required. This is required for legal ceremonies only.

VALID PASSPORTS They are mandatory for a legal wedding to be performed. Passports must be presented to the wedding coordinator at the time of the wedding meeting. This meeting must be 4 days prior the wedding date. Please send your scanned passports to the WC before your arrival (Bride,  Groom and 4 witnesses – 2 each)

TOURIST CARDS  These green cards are provided to all persons on the plane and require to be completed before you enter Cancunâ€s International Airport – saves time.  Check and double check all areas are completed otherwise you will get put to the back of the que at the airport arrivals desk.. Names on Tourist Card and Passport MUST be the same. This card proves your legal stay in Mexico.  These will be copied by the WC for Bride,  Groom and 4 witnesses – 2 each

Do NOT loose these cards as you require them when leaving too.

WEDDING CERMONY

The Mexican Marriage Certificate requires the Bride & Grooms thumbprints.  Make sure someone has wet wipes with them on the day so your dress stays clear from the black ink.  I love our thumbprint photos J

WEDDING CERTIFICATE

The certificate is always in Spanish / Mexican.  If you require to get it translated that will be a cost you will have when back home

Happy planning, if you have any questions just holler

Kirstin x

Katie ordered her dress in early January and didn't recieve it until mid-June...don't put it off too long because you need to leave time for alterations also.

I totally agree. It's never too early to get the wedding dress in order. It's just too stressful if it's not done on time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
