How fast can we newbies reach 150????!!

Oh we miss London terribly. Had FI not just gotten the job of his dreams, it was a consideration for us to move back there.

While we enjoy the culture and the closeness of being to downtown Toronto, and we both grew up here, the small, slower culture of London we loved. And everything was sooooo much more reasonably priced! Plus, we liked the two hour buffer between us and our parents wink.gif

So now we are on a crunch- save and pay for this wedding, save to have a down payment for a townhouse here in Mississauga, and have a baby, all in the next 3 years! LOL We want a backyard for our future dog and children as well! How old are your kids?

Oh god, our cat is our life. If something were to happen to him, we would be completely devastated. He is our "baby", and the love of our lives.

You'll get to the 150 no problem! No worries- you'll find the longer you're on here, the more you simply just want to respond. People like to have their comments responded to, and because it's such a tight knit community, it's what we do for each other!

We've been engaged since September and were on it right away. (That's me though.... a bit crazy and a HUGE planner). At this point, he just wants it to be over and doesn't want to talk about it haha.

Hi ladies!! Excellent thread idea, Miss J!! I try to post at least 10 times a day and it does get easier!! It's almost a game at my house now. My fiancé was ready to go somewhere one day and I told him I just needed 3 more posts before we could leave. He thought I was nuts, but now he asks how many I have left. It's become a nightly ritual/game. After each post I announce 8 more, 7 more, all the way down to 0. It's pretty ridiculous! Lol!

My kids are 2 and 4, so still chaotic Lol. Happy house hunting. Shopping for a house is so much fun! We're the opposite, we're small town northerners, London and KW are huge to me. I like it here though :) I get it about the cat, I'm very attached to mine, I've had him for 10 years now. My fh isn't helping me plan at all yet. I don't think he gets how early I want everything done so I'm not stressed right before we leave Lol Ucfjennifer, I love that idea! I've actually decided to post from my phone while I do the bedtime routine. It's helping Lol.

Yikes, yes, 2 and 4 is very chaotic- but so cute! Question, did you experience the terrible 2's or terrible 3's? When I was a nanny/ worked in a day care, the 3's were SOOOO much worse than the 2's!

Yes, shopping for a house will be fun! But that is still so far off.... at least until after the wedding, so not until late next year! I do check in though, within Mississauga every little bit, just to see what pops up!

I want everything done early as well! I know it is wishful thinking and I will be a maniac the week leading up to the wedding, but I figure I have given myself plenty of time, and since we will know by the end of this August who has put their deposit down with our TA, and who will be looking on their own- I will have fairly definite numbers a year in advance!

I love that! At least he is interested enough to see how it's going! So close! You'll be there in just a few days!

I still have a ways to go... And I've been here for about 9 months now. Wah! I guess I got discouraged a couple months back and took a mini hiatus.

The site is crazy helpful though. I've never been too savvy in party planning.. so planning a wedding was a lot of guess work at first... but now I've gone as far as writing the ceremony script, building my OOT bags, doing iron-ons for my bridal party.... things I probably wouldn't have done without the site....

Keep on trekkin....

I see the threes being worse than two at work too (daycare) My kids haven't developed typically so it hasn't been quite the same at home. But to be honest, the attitude that came from my DD right around her 4th birthday is the hardest for me so far, she's like a little teenager some days, and others she's sweet and gentle. It's crazy.  I've decided that the cute is a self defense mechanism.

I'm years away from buying again, and I still poke around now and then to see what's around. It's fun lol.

That's awesome. I've considered getting a TA just for that reason, I'm planning to rent a big house or two for everybody so I need to know how many will be there to book properly.

all my years working with kids (over 10 years), has always had the 3's being far worse than the 2's. It's crazy!

Oh man, the attitude of a 4 year old girl...... this is why I am TERRIFIED of having a daughter. Boys tend to just be honest and straight up with you. No real manipulating. But girls- masters at it! And my mom and I had a horrible relationship all through my teens, so I know that will be payback galore.

I literally LOL'd at your "cute is a self defense mechanism". LOL I wouldn't doubt it!

Honestly, buying is so crazy to think about right now. But here in the GTA, renting a house just isn't worth it. You mind as well just save up a bit more and buy a townhouse- the rent on full houses is insane.

I would suggest getting a TA- I don't want to have money discussions with family and friends. I would rather have a buffer between all that and just talk to them about the fun stuff, not the potential awkward conversations around finances. I think a big house (or two) is an awesome idea! My friend went to a wedding in LA, and they did that- rented out a house and nearly 15 of them fit into it! She said it was such an amazing weekend, so awesome idea!

You'll get there, don't get discouraged! Just make it a challenge- you need to find 6 or 7 threads to post on in a day- whether it is just commenting something nice, like an idea, or within a current discussion (like this one!) it adds up faster than you would think!

The attachments are just a bonus to the amazing ideas you get off of here. The OOT bags are incredible, and seeing people's pictures is pretty awesome. WO!, your ceremony script is done already?? Good for you!!!

Yeah... it's insane how much attitude can be in such an adorable little person. On the other hand, my DS is a total boy, always has bruises and black eyes and just looks battered all the time. He's going to give me a heart attack, so there's definite pluses to both genders LOL

Renting is almost not worth it anywhere in Southern Ontario, it's insane... We can't afford to rent a real house, but hope to buy one maybe in 5 years. Kind of frustrating.

I didn't think about talking money with family and friends. No kidding that would be awkward. Definitely a TA then, I just need to find one. I'm giving myself until January 2014 to have things booked and STD's sent out so I have some breathing room there at least. I think a year is good notice for this kind of thing, right?

I'm glad that it went well for that wedding in LA! I'm looking at two side by side houses right now, together they sleep a max of 36 people lol. And bonus points for a pool with a full glass cover... No scary Florida wildlife in you pool, all of the rentals I've seen there have that.

I was out cleaning my balcony yesterday myself! Over the winter, there ended up being sooooo much sludge and gross dirt on our railing, so I was sitting out there, wiping them all down with a bowl and magic eraser! haha Only got about half of them done.... and the windows are my mission for this weekend!

We have HUGE windows that face out to Lake Ontario and we can see the Toronto skyline, so it's a view worth seeing, but it's terrifying standing on a chair outside wiping them all down when I am 10 stories up, so I only like to do it when someone is home---- because you know, logic says if something were to happen, my FI would be able to sprint from the living room, out the door and catch me if I start to fall over the railing (that is actually about 2 feet behind me).

Damn fear of heights- makes no sense to me!

Thanks Jenny!

Yes, hoping to get a bit of cleaning done outside as well over the weekend! The Decking needs to be cleaned down and if the weather holds up needs to be varnished as well. I also have one particular flower bed that looks really really miserable. If the sun makes an appearance, all the better! :)

The view from your flat sounds stunning!! Dont talk to me about fear of heights, Im so bad that I only do the downstairs windows of the house, upstairs I just do them on the inside, hubby to be has to do the outside ones. I think I would fall out if I attempted to lean out. Plus some of the opens from the bottom out so must be done from the outside, and I aint climbing any ladders!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
