I wanted to get married in St. Lucia so badly, but I ended up switching to Riviera Maya because I wanted to keep the flight length/cost down for my guests.  I hope previous brides will reach out to you from the other thread (you should post, I bet they will respond).  I did some research on weddings in St. Lucia, and I'm happy to pass along some of what I found to you.  Best of luck!

Hello,  Thanks for replying... I'm not really sure how to do all the post and stuff on this site yet.. as this was my first.  I'd be happy to take any info you may have collected about St. Lucia.  I haven't booked anything yet, but will be doing so this month.  I have told everyone that is invited (with the disclaimer that it will PROBABLY be in St. Lucia and it will PROBABLY be in October 2014... just in case I change my mind)  I don't see why I would change my mind and plan to send the save the dates out in July. I'm actually working on them today!

How far in advance are/did you tell people and all that?

Oh cool!  I have never been - it looks amazing and I love that I will be able to say I am getting/was married in St. Lucia.

I don't think I really need a planner since I am going to be doing everything through Sandals ....

Any info you might have that I can share with my guest for "must sees" and such would be great!

I know one of my friends plans to stay at the resort for the required amount of time she needs to but then her and her husband want to find somewhere "off the beaten path" -- any ideas I can pass on to her would be awesome!

Where on the island are you getting married??

i was going to pick St Lucia Sandals, but it is too expensive especially the flight to get there. So i chose montego bay instead.. the flight is much more affordable

RaynDrop-

I still haven't told a lot of people, as I want my wedding to be one surprise after another cheesy.gifwink.gif  For a lot of my friends, they will find out when I send the save the dates! LOL LOL  All of the research that I did was for off-resort weddings because I wanted to select my own photographer.  (Photography is VERY important to me.)  One of my friends recommended Dreamy Weddings to me as a very good planner for St. Lucia and other islands.  Even if you don't use them for weddings, you might want to use them to arrange for a tour or activity as a thank you for attending.

BrownSugerBride,  Thanks for the info - I will check it out!   I understand about keeping stuff a surprise - I think that is fun.  We are only have 18 people - our parents, siblings, and one set of friends each.  We told everyone in April so they have plenty of time to start saving - I am sending Save the Dates in July and I have little surprises that I am sending every three months up to two weeks before the wedding.   The surprises will be need to know info as well as useful gifts. People keep asking me stuff that will be answered when they get these things so I just act like I don't know/haven't decided and change the subject. haha

Backy,  Montego Bay looks really nice as well.  I'm not sure what it is about St. Lucia but I am drawn to it and can't seem to focus on anywhere else.  I think the prices for Sandals for the time period everyone will need to be there is very reasonable and I'm hoping that when the time comes to get flights everyone can find deals.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
