Wow Shelley, that is such a difficult decision to make, and I'm sure not one that has been made lightly. I'm glad you and Amos are able to talk through your feelings and reach a solution that is mutually agreeable. Please let us know how we can help you through this time.

Shelley I am so sorry that this happened, especially so close to the day of your wedding. I know this won't make you feel better but I went through the same thing and postponed my wedding. Granted mine's wasn't going to be until next July but I couldn't go forward with it knowing that FI's family wouldn't come. It's been hard but I know that I will find the perfect place for us to get married and I have no doubt that you will too. If you need anyone to talk to I am here for you. smile03.gif

I'm so sorry!

I am however really glad you're not pushing him. Seriously, you should be proud of yourself for that. It shows you are ready to be married and realize marriage is a committment and involves compromise. I think so many girls push and push their guys to walk down the aisle when they want and don't realize they are setting themselves up for failure. You both need to feel ready before taking those vows.

That said, it does suck that things are going to be delayed, but who knows, you may love your alternative plans a whole lot more! I'm sure you guys will figure something out.

Family can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but I'm glad you understand it's important to Amos to have his be there.

Wow, that is surprising news! Do you think you're going to do a wedding at home now? Are y'all going to skip going away for now all together or do you think you'll still use it as a vacation? You are so strong, and a great example of what a marriage is. It's not about the wedding but about the commitment we are each making to our nearest and dearest. He is lucky to have you! hug2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
