Zihuatanejo's Best Photographer

Recommended Posts

I was married in Zihuatanejo in April 2013 and after extensive research (much on this website), I contacted Elizabeth Brady (she goes by Eli) with BN Fotografia at http://bnfotografia.blogspot.com. I instantly loved what I saw, she worked with me on my budget and we quickly signed a contract.

Over the next 5 or so months, Eli was a constant in my wedding planning. Neither myself or my (now) husband had been to Zihuatanejo so Eli was a godsend, giving me ideas, feedback and advice, booking other services on my behalf and being my go-to-gal on so much more than photography.

Before our arrival, Eli went to our hotel to scout the location and lighting and recommend the best spot on the beach and time of day for the ceremony. She helped me with our welcome bags, both getting and beautifully packaging locally sourced coffee and sea salt. The biggest help of all was connecting me with Isela, the local Zihuatanejo queen of wedding hair and makeup. I won't go into great detail here about Isela but to say that I could have been in a movie, her work was that spectacular. Isela does not speak English and I don't speak Spanish and so, out of the goodness of her heart (she wasn't paid for this, it was outside our contract terms), Eli came to my trial appointment and stayed with me the entire time as my interpreter. Eli constantly went above and beyond and amazed me with what she would do for me on my behalf.

As for her photography, I don't know how else to describe it other than breathtaking and absolutely stunning. She works with her husband Juan who is very good - and also has a charming smile and very sweet demeanor. They are so easy to work with it feels like you're hanging out with your friends! We did a couple's shoot around downtown and had a blast exploring the city with locals, learning about the Mexican culture and feeling a bit like celebrities. We got some very unique, fun and beautiful pictures from that day!

Our wedding pictures capture the beauty of the location, the fun our friends and family were having, the joy my husband and I felt and the silly antics of our group. I have had countless people tell me how beautiful our pictures are and our guests all comment on how the day is captured just perfectly. Eli and Juan are genuine people who made an effort to get to know our guests and that was felt by all.

I guarantee you will be very pleased if you choose Eli for your big day! When people ask us to describe our wedding, we say it was perfect. It wouldn't have been so without them. We are so thankful to have found Eli and Juan!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
