Hello everybody!

Just in case you are having doubts of giving some information about the destination place for the wedding with the invitations this is exactly what we do. Although Caribbean is one of the most visited places for the Spanish people, more than a half of people we were inviting was never before in Riviera Maya.

So I decided to go with a DIY project for the information part.

We wanted to have classic invitations so we ordered them at printing house.

Here you can see some photos.

This is the invitation

and the back with a sealing sticker with hearts, which we love

Once the people open the sticker...

The invitation with all the information and above the info with the way for the presents. In Spain the typical is to open a wedding list in a store and open a bank account. People could choose what they prefer if giving you money directly to the bank account or buying presents from a list that we have selected.

And here it is the DIY project that I made.

I used a A5 format for the sheets. I  bought ink for my printer.

I selected photos from internet, other mines which I made when I was in Riviera Maya.

I also bought a bow with the same colour of the invitations. I made two holes and use the bows to put together the sheets so people could read it as a "book/notebook". This has 16 sheets in total.

Here I am uploading some of the pages.

This is the first page ("Viaje" means travel). I write all the information about the characteristic of the travel, which is included at the cost of the travel (in that moment we did not have yet the specific cost) such as flight, shuttle bus, standard rooms, number of nights, all inclusive...

This is other page, we had several guests that loves sports and our resort includes a lot of these. So I considered important to introduce this information as well. "Instalaciones deportivas" means "Sportive facilities".

Other page that contains info about swimming pools and entertainment (disco, activities, shows at the theatres, etc)

I also wrote info about the Spa because it is considered one of the 3 bests of the whole Caribbean and all the information about the buffets, bars and restaurants. I also added information about the long trousers for men at a la carte restaurants.

We wanted that people was not confused about what was included at the travel cost and what not. For this reason, one of the pages is dedicated to this "external services not included at the cost" is but means the title.

We wanted as well to have the touch of introducing information about what to visit in the Riviera Maya. We introduced information about Playa del Carmen, Xcaret, Xel-ha, the mayan ruins, etc...

(For example, this pic from Chichen is mine, beautiful place, isn't it?)

This is another page with interesting details like: the time difference, voltage (in Europe we use another so we suggest to bring transformers, distances to the principal interesting places and suggestions like buy a high solar cream protection and a spray for Caribbean mosquitos that you can find at pharmacies).

And this below it is the back cover or back page. I toke this with my camera in one visit to a mayan ruins.

Thanks! It seems sumple but it toke us a lot of days to do it. I am Spanish and my fiance is Italian. So we had to wrote two types. Deciding what to write took us a while as well as choosing the pics. Stamp was the hardest, and the most expensive part. I had to go several times to the store because it was difficult to calculate how many ink we needed. And the bow was difficult to find. I wanted from the exact color! This has been the longest of my DIY projects. But a satisfaction. As you have said, guests appreciated a lot and commented me how useful it is!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
