Struggling to decide on a resort. Please help!?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for having a look. Over the past three months we have been spending a lot of time reviewing Resorts by location, opinions and packages that are offered. We have asked opinions from wedding coordinators and travel agents and it appears everyone has their favourite or property that they promote. We cant seem to get any where so starting to loose hope. We are looking to get married spring of next year with about 50 guests. We have groups travelling from a few major Canadian cities. Van, Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto. We are interested in keeping costs down for our guests and getting good value for the wedding itself. We want it simple but still nice. 1500 incl. for a week is ideal but 2000 is the max. Listed below are a few resorts we have looked into so far: Grande Bahia -pretty basic, big and it is far from the airport. Now Sapphire - nice, great beach, weddings can be expensive, problems with cleanliness Azul Sensatori, Beach - expensive but good value for wedding packages, poor beaches Anything that could guide us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am getting married at Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. This is sth like 100 km away from the Cancun airport.

Everybody that goes there speaks very well and brides are happy. I have recently read a very positive review from a bride about her wedding planner.

It has several options for receptions and depending on what you want for the wedding day, you could find a good offer.

Thanks guys. Trust me we are thinking of running away too. If it was an event for only a handful of people it would be much easier. Stressful having to worry about such a large group. We are considering using a destination specialist to help. She charges 1k for her services but by using her extensive knowledge and contacts we hope to come out of this way ahead. Lots of perks and useful info. Will look into Grand Palladium. Thank you

Hey Amandah86 and Wrinklyshirt,

As a wedding planner here in the Riviera Maya,

Planning a destination is Easy and stress free when you have the right people who have the knowledge about the area.  I must point out that there are good hotels which can work with the budget that you have for 5 or more nights, with reasonable wedding packages, Also we have off site location that can offer you something simple , semi private and yet beautiful.

If you may have any question or need more information. Feel free to PM me or email at: [email protected]

Happy Planning!

Joyce

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
