Hello 2014 brides! I am getting married at ME on June 2nd, at 3pm. We are having approximately 50 guests (~8 of them are kids).

Booked Sea & Sea for a semi-private dinner at 6:30, followed by a private reception on the beach from 8-11! We are flying in our videographer and photographer from Toronto for 3 days...they are both family friends so this mini vacation for them is the only compensation that they are willing to accept! Which works for us ;)

Looking forward to exchanging words of wisdom with everyone!

I had to post some updates!  So far, we're booked 5pm beach ceremony, 6:30 See & Sea semi-private dinner, 8-11 reception at Parrot Bar. We have 20 guests booked, plus us :)  .  We booked Jamie Dimitry for photography, Cores for videography, Pastor York for ceremony & DJ Mannia for reception.

we have also booked sea & sea for 6:30pm followed by 8-11 reception on the beach... what are the extra costs that are associated with your 3 hour reception at the parrot bar? will you be ordering a mini-bar? dj? lights? LD floor? Thanks!

Congrats to all the brides getting married this year! I'm getting married @ the Majestic Elegance Oct 20/2014. So far I've booked the ceremony @ 3pm(not sure if I should make it later due to the heat, maybe 5pm?) Thinking about doing the semi-private dinner and reception @ Parrot Bar to follow. We expecting about 60+ guests. Can anyone recommend a photographer or videographer that end?

Hi Girls!!

I'm hoping to get some feedback from recent brides at ME and upcoming ones...my future hubby and I have scheduled for 12-12-14 at their beach gazebo at 1 PM (I hate it being so early, but I had asked for an earlier time to lessen the anxiety of guests spending their waiting time at the bars...i have 90% first timers at an all inclusive out of around 60 ppl). Should be quite interesting!

But I was hoping to get input on photographers. I originally had thought of doing the resorts, but after being on this site, I see some have chosen HDC which is very reasonable especially compared to tropical with the amount of pictures you get, or others have mentioned Phil, who i have reached out to but not heard back yet. Are there any recent brides out there that have went with either and have a gallery of their work from the resort?

Also, with brides who have brought their own decor, supplies. Did you assign someone with your group the task of setting them up or did you pay the resort? I'm not bringing much, but at the same time dont want to pay them 600 to set out a table runner & napkins that im bringing (when im paying them to set out charger plates)...im just wondering...for small things like that, did the resort work out a deal with any brides to lessen that setup cost, or am I just going to need to delegate someone from my party to do the work?

Hello ladies,

We are two Canadian photographers based in Punta Cana and Majestic Elegance is one of our favourite resorts.  We've photographed number of weddings there, each and every one was amazing!

We still have some dates available in 2014 and now booking 2015 as well.  Feel free to check out our website www.juliaeskin.com or e-mail me at [email protected] if you are still looking for a photographer.

To reserve a welcome dinner I just emailed the wedding coordinator and told her I would like one set up for our guests. She emailed me back saying it would have to be at buffet, only free option.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
