A little thing I like to call "Operation Wedding Dress" (aka, my dress is too small... but it won't be soon!)

NO PROBLEM! Squats work the back of your thinghs and your butt.. so they definately work. you can easily do squats at home If you dont have different weights you can grab two ten lb weights and start with that. I squat heavy when im using dumbells or a barebll i use about 50lbs.. if im at the gym with the squat machine about 80-100.. but thats pushing the weights where if you do them at home you will have the weights in your hand or on your shoulder/back. and be going to the floor with them so I use a bit less when I am doing those. If you are concerned with the front of your thighs. then you would need to do leg extensions at the gym I mean squats will help a bit with those but not as much. I havent found any good at home ones for the front of your legs. You can also do sumo squats ( i love those) My body is so stuck it always levels back at this weight ugh.. oh well lol Spanx and corset will hide any stomach i have left :) less then 4 months!!! eek.. A guy at work is going to take me to this MMa training bootcamp thing with him. god im gonna be dead lol
Thanks for the advice... It's funny cause I just finished squats lol... I'm taking this 30 day squat challenge from home so ill see how this work and ill use your advice and add weight to it...4 months wow your soo close enjoy your time finishing planning it will be here and gone before you know it... And you will do fine at boot camp just push yourself as far as YOU can go and you will do great you will be in no shape in no time, four months I'd lots of time so keep pushing !!!

It was awesome!  I really pushed myself to try and run for as long as I could.  I ran for 22 mins, walked 2 and then ran the rest of the way to 33 mins.  My goal is to run 5k (which I did accomplish in May, but fell off the running wagon).  Over our honeymoon I think we are going to try and run the 5k at the El Dorado.  Can't wait!

Honestly, when I started I couldn't even run 3 minutes straight.  In about 4 weeks I went from 3 minutes to over 30 minutes.  It really is remarkable what you can do when you put your mind to it!

You have all inspired me to start doing more strength training... Pushups, sit ups and squats.... leg raises etc!

My sister reminded me today that it's 45 days until we leave and 50 days until the wedding, so time to kick this into high gear!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

How's everyone been doing?!

Our wedding keeps getting closer and closer, I can't believe it! We're just over two months away from departure (Dec 11)! This weekend I did a 29km run in prep for the NYC marathon on Nov 3. We're also about to start week # 6 of the Insanity DVDs. They've definitely been helping a lot!

I need to bring my dress in for alterations in the next week or two!

Way to go girlie! Sounds like you are doing amazing! How long is the NYC Marathon?

I am doing not so bad... not as well as I would like to be, but still, doing well!

With the new puppy, time at the gym has gone from two-3 times a week to nada for the past few weeks. But, that's okay, because we are out walking for 20 minutes at a time, about 3 times a day at least. And it will only get longer as he gets older! We also are moving now November 1st into a townhouse from our apartment, so that will give is more space, and lots more new walking areas to explore :)

I finally weighed myself after 3 weeks of not checking in. Totally thought I was going to be up because we have been eating decently, but when we don't, it's bad, bad, bad. However, I somehow managed to still be on the losing track and have officially lost 20 pounds since the spring!  If I can stick it out for the next 5 days and work hard, I might actually reach my Thanksgiving goal of being down to 170 :) Currently at 173..... and then hopefully, can get to 150 by Christmas! I have found it is this 170 range that I struggle with.. once I get past it, I can drop weight much faster.... once did 170 to 150 in 9 weeks when we were going to the Dominican. So, essentially, I will be doing the same, with just a couple extra weeks!

150 is my celebrating weight though... if I can get there, a weight I have not been in over 4 years, I will allow myself to splurge and get a bunch of new clothes. Because after that, it is only another 20 pounds before I get to my goal weight (which I am aiming for by Easter). Then it is tone, tone, tone, tone until September :)

Thinking I might try out the squat challenge again.... and actually finish it this time!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
