A little thing I like to call "Operation Wedding Dress" (aka, my dress is too small... but it won't be soon!)

And if she doesn't like it she can keep her comments to herself. Just remember to do what YOU and your FI want to do as far as the place you want to get married. No one had a say in that, we chose it completely on our own.

ugh that is super frustrating... I had a friend who had the same thing happen... her mother in law was trying to run everything and then her mom piped in.. they got so frustrated that they just got married at what was supposed to be their engagment party... no one knew until she came walking out in her dress. It's sometimes so tempting to just elope but deep down I know that I want my family there with me when I marry my best friend. I think we have finally decided on Cuba :) my sister can deal with it. Everyone I talked to about the food there have been pleasantly surprised and just suggest we bring spices if we like lots of spice. Doable for sure.

I totally feel you, we've voiced for over a year now that we were planning a DW and we've lived together almost 2yrs now and we don't want to spend an arm and a leg so that we can buy a house soon. We currently have no credit card debt and a decent amount saved so we're not looking to use either on this wedding which is completely do able. Plus we want to than pay our cars off and my student loan after we're married so that in two years from now we'll be completely stable to buy a home and not struggle. *hugs* cheer up chicky, just remember we are marring our best friends and that's what is most important.

That's exactly what we want. Don't spend a fortune on this one day and instead put the money towards something for our future.. as in a home. We plan on moving closer to my FI's son and we want to buy a home down there... we don't want to add more debt to what we already have and so we will pay for our wedding with money we save, all while tackling our debt. I think I'm lucky in that my family and friends aren't really overstepping (with the exception of my sis, who I know will get over it)... but then again.. there is still A LOT of time for people to start coming forward with their opinions..

Man I can't tell you how frustrated I have been this week.  My FI and I have said all along that we would do a destination wedding.  We live together and don't need anything house wise.  We have been vocal with each other and our families that we would not have an engagement party, bridal shower or a big traditional wedding.  We want to have a destination wedding and that's it.  No reception when we get back...just low key, intimate and small.  This is important to us but we are not going to spent an arm and a leg for it.  There are renovations that we would like to do to our house instead.  Everyone was fine with it at first and now suddenly everyone has an opinion on everything....the location, the date, wanting to have these extra parties and now wanting to have a reception when we get back.  I hit my wits end today and ended up eating shitty stuff and didn't work out when I got home.   Feel super happy with myself and everyone else right now.  angry.gif
Awe sorry you are having a bad day. Just let everyone else talk and do what's right for you and your FI, can't make everyone happy! Sorry, I don't know how to quote multiples (I'm on an iPad), but I LOVE rollerblading. You wouldn't catch me running, unless there was like a cupcake or something I really wanted at the finish line ;). I know it's not for everyone but its a great workout to tone your legs and butt! My best friend was horrible at it and couldn't stop so she always had to run into the back of me haha. I just had another weigh in. I am 5.3lbs down since 5/31!!! I rollerblades 5 miles today. S thankful the sun is out again! I am thinking about doing Herbalife teas to supplement my metabolism and weight loss...has anyone tied Herbalife products? Hope you ladies are having a great wedding! Part of me is wishing I didn't plan to have a wedding on the BEACH!!! What was I thinking? I miss nachos, burgers and fries and everything else with flavor...LOL. Just kidding. I am allowing myself one cheat day a week, and everything I'm eating is actually yummy and I feel fuller faster!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
