Woohoo to being weight loss buddies! smile03.gif Would you like to share your weight loss gain like Jenny and I did? (I know you said you bought a size 14 dress. Sorry if I missed your goals, if you stated them. )

I don't know if I know what double doubles are. You might have to explain that one to me. Do you mean a double shot (of liquor)?

What I drink that is total crap is pop and double doubles. And at family dinners we usually have a drink so make that a crown and coke, one or two a week.

Haha, we were posting at the same time!

You don't have your wedding date up. When is the special day going to be?

I'm going to Zumba tomorrow too! I did Zumba Ripped. It was awesome! I love the instructor who does it! pinkie.gif

Do you only do the regular Zumbas or have you branched out to the other ones?

Hahaha sorry. That's "canadian" for a coffee with two cream and two sugar. It's not even the caffeine, it's the sugar.. I think I have a real sugar problem! There should be a sugarholics anonymous. (Lol a double shot, must have thought I was an alcoholic). My goal is 4 inches on the waist, to start, anything more is great! (Except for the alteration bill... But if my too small dress became too big....I would be A-OK with that!) And if possible, by August. But My wedding isn't until November so there's lots if time still. I'm eating clean(er), drinking as little calories as possible (yay water!) and working out a few times a week. If I don't get much progress within the first 2 weeks, ill have to look at brig a little more hardcore about it.

Lol. No, I didn't think you were an alcoholic. I thought it might have been related to the crown and coke comment. So, no worries! Now, I know what I could order whenever I go back to Canada. Maybe it would help me bend in a little...unless they don't have it at the place I go to. lol

I love sweets too. So, what I did was a one week detox where it was a restrictive vegan diet and I juiced (since my FH had just bought me a juicer for my bday). Surprisingly, it worked! I haven't had sweets (or craving for them) in 3 weeks! woot2.gif

30 pounds in 6 months...that's not too unrealistic! Having to pay for an alteration bill because you are now too small for the dress....FANTASTIC problem to have! smile72.gif

A great tip that I have used before if you don't like water (or get tired of its taste or lack thereof) is to cut up fruit and put it in a pitcher. It is so refreshing to have a nice cold glass of lemon water.

Zumba Sentao or Zumba Toning should give you results. I know for sure Zumba Ripped will. My goodness, I will probably be really sore in the morning since I did Zumba Ripped today. But, hey, (good) pain today, fabulous wedding pics tomorrow (well, technically April...lol)

I think 30 is a LITTLE ambitious, but I also tend to bite off more than I can chew with anything I do - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, I'll be happy with any progress! I'm trying on my dress every month to measure my progress. When that zipper does up, I'll be sooo happy! I missed where you asked what kind of Zumba, just regular for now. But my gym does have a few different kinds if you pay extra, I gotta look into that (or when they start)or keep my eye out for a groupon. Weighed myself this morning, 5lbs!!!!!!

Oh, Amir (FH) and I have always tried to work out together. During university we managed to do it for a solid 4 months together. Now, we know it's just not possible. Our schedules are too different, and now that he is working downtown Toronto, and me out in Oakville (opposite ways from our apartment), it just isn't possible at all. The more we tried to work out schedules together, the more we found we were just preventing the other from going to the gym haha. So now he get's a major discount with his work for Goodlife, the two of us can join for $400/year, and go to any location. And with my work, I can get reimbursed back $350 of that, so for a year we pay $50 for the two of us to go to the gym. Kind of an awesome deal. So now he will go to the gym that is in his work building, and I will go to one on my way home :)

Honestly, when I stepped on the scale for real after Christmas, and didn't try to shift my weight so the number was less, it brought tears to my eyes. I remember last spring, sitting down with my parents (they had a "happiness intervention"- thought Amir and I were having major issues and I was miserable. Turns out I was, but about how I felt about myself..... and they were majorly projecting their own lack of happiness onto me. My relationship was perfectly fine- and got better a few months later!). Anyways, I digress. When I sat down with them and said my highest weight was 185, that was the truth. So to see that I worked my ass off all summer for our vacation, got down to about 170, and then to balloon up to 192 in 4 short months, I was seriously crushed. I hated absolutely everything about me- it was soul crushing. And I had those vicious thoughts, of "how could he possibly want to marry someone so fat". It was wicked awful. Thank God I quickly got out of that mindset.

Anyways, yes, so seeing my number be almost back down to 180, even dropped to 178 for a couple short weeks, it was a HUGE relief. And now, it is to keep it completely off!

My absolute ultimate goal is to get down to about 120, as I am 5'4, and while it would make me skinny, I would be content being at 130, but having major muscle tone.

I am fine with being weight loss buddies!!!! It's always nice to have the support, and I lost the weight from Christmas by being a part of the "Biggest Loser Challenge" on here. Didn't win, but at the end of it, I didn't care, as I was losing, and that's what counted to me! We should have like a weekly check in, to keep us on track and accountable :)

I saw a meme on pinterest awhile back. It said somethign along the lines of "oh, what I wouldn't give to go back to 22 and be as fat as I thought I was then". Seriously, at 22, I had only put on maybe 25 pounds. I think I was sitting around 150, at the absolute max. Yeah, what I wouldn't give to be as fat as that right now haha. But c'est la vie!

Yeah...apparently we are together in this no-shame thing. But, at least it makes us more accountable maybe? I started at 190 (which shocked me) as I've never been that size before. Tomorrow I will find out if I reach my 180 goal. We should be weight loss buddies since we are so similar in our goals and current weights. cheer2.gif Yes, as you said, what I wouldn't give to be 140 lbs right now!

Yes, vicious circle...BangHead.gif But, we must overcome! punk.gif

Welcome to the BDW weight loss buddies club!

So funny how I read this and knew absolutely everything you said. Gotta love being Canadian! Ahh, double doubles. Not so bad- FI used to drink extra large triple triples. Soooooo sweet.

I drink pop too- not as bad as FI (who is a pepsi fanatic), but I will have about 5 or 6 for the week. At work all I drink is water, which is good. But i don't drink enough. And then at home I'll have a glass or two of wine, or a rum and coke/ beer/ yesterday i had a vodka and cranberry. I don't know why I am drinking so much- used to go weeks without drinking, now it's like every other night. Gotta stop that right now. Handle my stress better.

Trust us, if your going for coffee here, your going to Tim Horton's. BEST coffee in Canada, but highly addictive. I swear, they do put crack in it. Or so the joke goes. And if you walk in and say you would like a double double, you would fit right in.

I wish I could get rid of my craving for sweets. As long as I eat fruit, I can contain it, but for me, it's salt. I absolutely CRAVE salt- chips, crackers, popcorn, etc. So bad. Cannot seem to turn it down.

Love fruit in water :) Definitely makes it a lot easier to drink more of, because there is a flavour to it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
