2014 Paradisus Palma Real

Hi Nena,

No i have not decided on a package yet. Still looking at the chill out chic and the tailor made. Those are our big ones since we can no longer do buffet then aqua is out right now. This may change though.

so far we have received about 50 responses we are still waiting for about 50 more. We invited 186 guests and our original guest list was at 300  people so we decided to cut our list.

We are not sure if we will be having the at home reception since now this will be an added cost and really want to save for our first home. We also want to get pregnant right after the wedding. Lots of plans in mind....lets see if it all works out.

Sorry not buffet i meant sit down dinner.

The romance office told us that we can only choose two options for dinner and do a duet so we decided to just forgo the whole sit down thing. Even though it is nicer for a wedding we are doing things different its destination and really i do not want to choose something and then regret it so whatever.

Aww that's so sweet!!! I was in The Knot and found out that they also have The Nest and The Bump websites!! you should check them out at your leisure.

Also, I originally refused to do a buffet-style dinner. For me it was like not wearing a white wedding dress on my wedding day LOL (yeah sound ridiculous and pretty uptight) but of course I changed my mind afterwards cheesy.gif. After all, a destination wedding is not a "traditional" wedding due to the location and etiquette that comes with it, so I decided to loosen up a bit haha and put my main focus on our families and us (I hope I remain this positive 60 days prior the wedding day hehe). This may be the first and only time that both families spend together.

Liz.

SOOOO OUR DATE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED!! WE ARE OFFICIALLY GETTING MARRIED ON AUG 23rd at 6 pm!!! YAY!!! I will be working with Jessica, have any of you worked with her?

Also, I need to send out my STD's by the end of July but I am having a hard time finding a nice and affordable vendor.  Who did yo guys use to design your STD's and Invitations? What kind of information did you include on your STD's? How much of your budget did you allocate for them? I feel like both pieces set up the tone for the wedding and I am trying to have my STD's custom designed as I keep them under a reasonable budget. I am currently reaching out of a few vendors on Etsy but have not decided to pull the trigger with any of them yet. Any thoughts?

Also, do you guys have a website? If so, are you guys using The Knot or Wedding Wire? any preferences?

Way too many questions… :(

Hi Nena!!! Congratulations on setting your date wooo whooooo!!! It is very exciting. I am currently working with Jessica myself and she is fantastic. Regaurding our save the dates I used shutterfly to make my own and then I included a postcard one in Spanish and another in English depending the language spoken. I made them myself using a picture from the resort I took when I went to visit in Jaunary. Well I made them on zazzle.com. they came out very nice and the purpose was to know if the people we attending, will not attend or are not sure at this time. I also included business cards for my travel agent along with a small paper in Spanish or English giving details to the hotel and pricing. we also have a wedding website on the knot which we had to make private. let me know of any other questions. I love these forums and how much we can help eachother out.

That is great! Thank you so much. I will check it out tonight. Sometimes I wish I had taken any Photoshop courses or something like that as Paint and Power Point were no help haha. I know what I want, I just wish I can put it together myself. I set up a budget of 500 for my STD's and invitations and hopefully I will stick to it today. Also, I totally agree with you! These forums are extremely helpful. I've learned so much from other brides in these past 6 mos. It has saved me time and $$. Regarding to the wedding site, I created it yesterday at Wedding Wire, I found a few more options regarding backgrounds there. It looks awesome! but I was working on it all day yesterday'; I gotta do a Spanish and English version for everything . I was even thinking about saying my vows in English and have them written down in Spanish for all my Spanish speaking guests. :) Liz

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
