Hi - I have just booked my wedding at Azul Beach Hotel for which will be in June 2014.

For those of you who have been married here which package did you choose?

The prices seem to be adding up quickly for everything. We didn't realize the private reception dinner would be an additional cost on top of the wedding package.

We reserved right before they changed the wedding package options, so we went with the pearl package for $950.

Have most brides brought their own photographers or used the approved vendors? I don't like the look of caribe photos and the other approved vendor Matias Cano seems to have decent photos, however, we're thinking of bringing our own photographer. Not sure what to do about videography.

Are other  brides planning to have a DJ? What about wedding decor? Are you purchasing through Lomas or bringing your own?

Any guidance would be great.. I'm so overwhelmed.

Thanks ladies...

Hi ladies! Getting married July 5, 2014 at Azul Beach! So excited! Heard that it's not a good idea to book hair and makeup in advance and to wait until you arrive for special discounts. Probably true right?? Brides have a good way to carry on their wedding dress? Thanks!

Hi Vanilla - just carry it on in your dress bag as your carry on item. Ask nicely, and if there's room the flight attendants will help you find a good space for it. There usually isn't much room in the closets on the planes anymore, but there may be room where they hang the 1st class coats, or help you lay it into an overhead bin.

Not to but in..but I couldn't help my self....

We are on our 3rd Karisma planner. We send questions with no reply. We send a followup and then we find out the person we've been working with is no longer with the company.

I know our wedding is still 6 months out, but that is no way to handle customers. Just a simple we have received your email and are working on it would be wonderful to recieve.

Not at all! But in please!!

My original coordinator was Karla Fernandez, she is now gone I am told. My new is Christine Fernandez. So far, I like she seems to get back with me within 2-3 days. But I just got her last week, she answers my questions with putting her suggestions/opinion which I appreciate. I'll let you know how it goes. I have most of my things picked which I am about to send her. I am working on my decor which seems to be the hardest between cost and then the price of taking it down with me and whether I should wait and buy in Mexico.

I am a Restaurant Manager/Event Coordinator for 10 years and I am a planner with detail. I hope to have everything done and planned before April even though the wedding is not until July.

OMG! So excited to have someone to talk wedding with. Of course, fiance is "not good with these things," so he says.

I am doing Ceremony, Cocktail Reception and Reception on the Beach. I want to keep the whole things outdoors (fingers crossed) and just enjoy the weather. My most important thing is to make sure the reception is a glow. We were aiming for 40-50 but I think it'll be closer to 30 which is perfect.

What are you doing?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
