The only thing I wish I would have ended up wearing was my wedged heels. No matter how little it may have rained in cancun, you will sink on the grass or at least give a little which makes your dress seem longer an more difficult to walk in. If it weren't for that I would have stayed in my dress all night long.

simpsondunn- Hello! I have a question for you what advice do you have for a beach wedding bride? My dress has a super long train but is light. I really don't want to get 2 dresses but will if I have to.  I've always dreamed about getting married in a Vera Wang dress and I know I'm not going to want to take it off lol.

Also, what are your thoughts heels on the beach/aisle runner.  My venue has an option for a gazebo as well.  If truly need to wear my heels I may have to walk on solid ground.

Hi all,

I have been so so busy with life and have neglected this forum. I hope you are all well and enjoying your planning

As far as my planning so far so good until recently. It's been really hard to get my guest to book their hotel stay. We have only 3 rooms booked out of the 25 rooms and have invited about 60 guest. Maybe because most of the guests are family and close friends- they know they are coming and are taking their time. If they only knew how much 'taking their time' effects me... All I can say is  STRESSFULdoh.gif. I am on the verge of inviting about 30 extra people just in case my guests forget to book don't book by the deadline March 31st. Does anyone have any advice on how to get your guests booking?

On a brighter note I found my dress, bm bought their lovely mint bridesmaid dresses,  finished my website, and all that good stuff...If you would like to see my website, dress, bm dresses let me know and I'd love to share it with you!! cheesy.gif I prefer not to post it directly on the forum because I don't want my future hubby to accidently see it online so I can PM u lol.

Lastly, if anyone was interested in ordering a few things from VistaPrint here is something for you,  gals, enjoy!

My advice on a wedding dress would be to have ONE perfect wedding dress. I ended up with two because I couldn't return the original one. I did a wedding dress and reception dress (white cocktail dress). I would have loved to stay in my wedding gown, but no matter how light weight and comfortable the gown is, it can be pretty hard to stay in a long dress from 4:30pm til midnight. Especially when there is dancing involved. As far as an aisle runner goes, I thought the ceremony was prettier without an aisle runner, buts thats my opinion. I had white rose pedals spread out up and down the aisle and they really stood out on the green grass.

I would love to see your website and how your planning is coming along! I agree that guests waiting to book is super stressful. What some brides have done is to send out a reminder postcard to remind people of deadlines for passport applications, hotel booking, etc. You could do it through VistaPrint (as you note above) to cut down on costs. A friendly reminder email also works. There's also the option of calling and reminding folks to get on the ball!! As for me, a few things have changed since I last posted. I decided to get married for sure off-resort at the Grand Coral Beach Club. I was so excited until my planner told me that they instituted a new $2000 site fee! My fiancé was not amused, and we ended up going with the Blue Venado Beach Club just outside of Playa. We are really psyched. Although there are some great hotels in Playa, we knew our family and friends would prefer an all-inclusive option, so we reserved some rooms at the Now Jade in Puerto Morelos. Also, due in part to Blue Venado's growing popularity, the May dates I wanted were booked up.. So we ended up going with a date at the end of April. (I hope I can still post here!) So far, we have selected our planner (Dream Weddings), our photographer, our housing, and our venue. We also sent out save the dates to many guests. I also have my dress purchased. The big things left to take care of are the invites (a friend is designing them), the bridal party attire, the dj, the makeup artist, and the entertainment.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
