Hi Megs!! Your wedding is 2 weeks before mine! I know exactly how you feel, excited and overwhelmed at the same time! We've invited our friends & family on a weekend cruise on the Carnival Victory and will be having the wedding while our ship is docked in Cozumel. We sent the save the dates in April/May and so far we have 30 people (13 cabins) booked, including us! What is everyone working on now? I'm going to start dress shopping in a couple of weeks. I'm also going to start designing the invitations (boarding passes). I'll be making one version for guests that have not booked and then a scaled-down version for those that already booked. For those sending invitations, when are you sending them? I was thinking 4-5 months out, but the holidays are in the way! So now I'm thinking early Nov so I don't get lost in the holiday shuffle and it gives them time to save & book.

Hi Jennifer! Congrats! A cruise sounds so fun! I've sent my eSave the dates and will prob not send physical save the dates just invites. I think I'm gonna try for a passport invite or boarding pass. I have a friend who does stuff like that as a side biz so she's gonna help me. I'll prob send the invites in October. When are you going say final RSVP is due? I'm thinking ill say January for mine. I have a wedding website through the coordinator I'm using. So I'll send email periodically through the site. It makes it do easy! Have fun dress shopping! I bought my dress like two months ago! It should be ready for fitting in October I think.

I think I'm going to make the RSVP due late Jan or early Feb. I bought my dress last Friday! It will be in by early November. I hope to lose a little weight before then! Are you sending an invite to the people that have already booked? I keep going back and forth on this. Option 1 - Send them a slightly different version of the invite when I send the rest of them in Oct. And send pre-travel brochure and luggage tags to everyone going in Mar. Option 2 - Send invites to those that haven't booked in Oct. Send pre-travel brochure and luggage tags to those booked in Jan. And send remaining out as people book. I know I'm over thinking, but wedding brain is a serious problem! Haha!

Yeah, I'm sending to everyone already booked. I'm planning to do passport invites. Hopefully they'll be super cute, so I want everyone to have one. I'm debating on sending to those already declined. But I hope that people will just view it as a sign of respect not a request for a gift! Lol! Idk, I feel like everyone who is invited would appreciate a real invite. That's my plan anyway.

Hi ladies!

We are getting married April 2 at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya.  Just ordered my dress yesterday and hoping to get our invitations nailed down next week. We decided not to do STDs because mostly everyone who is coming is already booked (and had to book by the end of April) so just the passport invitations.

Definitely send everyone you plan to invite an invitation, whether they have planned to book or not!  I think you can just send the same thing---don't drive yourself crazy! LOL

Thanks all! I've decided to send everyone an invitation. Slightly different version for people that have booked (final payment reminder vs the contact information to book). I have them designed, now just have to start printing! Plan to send them out in late October.

That's a good idea; to send the ppl that have already booked a slightly different invite with final payment info. Thanks for sharing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
