Yes, number of people definitely matters when it comes to your bottom line! (I am watching mine like a hawk!)  What's nice is with the Now Jade packages (the one I looked at the most before deciding to move off-resort) is that you get a lot included in the packages, which range up to $3000 and include up to $25 people.  It just depends on what you want.  I'm not trying to push NJ just because I may be staying there, I promise!  There are lots of other resorts that will give you good value as well.

I absolutely don't mind you asking! I will be getting married at the Blue Venado Beach Club in Playa del Carmen. Originally, I wanted to do the Grand Coral Beach Club, but the owner or owners decided to institute a brand new $2000 site fee, and my FH said no way! LOL  With Blue Venado, there is no site fee unless you are bringing in outside food. Since from all reports (past brides and wedding planner) the food is delicious, no need for me to do that!
Ok okay! I've heard great things about that place.

Ladies I need clarification! The $7, 000 budget or $10, 000 budget you are referring to in your post, it that for EVERYTHING (attire, accommodations, airfare, etc)? I saw one bride break her budget down but I'm interested in seeing how others are making out. Right now we are sitting around $4000 for the wedding/reception alone. Our accommodations will run $1000. Whew...things are adding up!

I have to be honest, while I'm trying to stay on budget, my budget is definitely not in the $7000 range---it's higher and I'm working hard to stay on top of it. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that on this thread. embarrassed.gif  One big reason is that I am splurging quite a bit with my photographer.  He is not cheap, but he is definitely worth it!

Oh okay...lol! No need to feel embarrassed. My budget isn't quite what the title of the thread suggests either. Same as you, my photographer will throw me over the line. I'm still enjoying this thread though ;)

I agree! We were all into looking at a bunch of stuff to buy...decorations, favors etc. and I finally realized that one of the reasons we decided on a destination wedding was to simplify. Then we turn around and started making it complicated!  We will do save the dates and invites. We want to add a little colr with chair sashes and possibly table runners. I am going to do the centerpieces myself...maybe add a few cheaper flowers. We will do some kind of small gift, but otherwise, I feel like we are going to be in a beautiful setting....let it speak for itself! We plan on giving out OOT bags before we leave so we don't have to drag all that stuff with us!
These are such great tips. So far herr is some of my breakdown: 2500.00 for all inclusive resort. All oceanview and privste balconies Fight will be abouy 960.00 Did free pckage at resort with few add ons. Bouquet upgrade for myself, bridesmaids bouquets, guys boutineere, decorated gazebo, private dinner for two on nite of choice and hr long cocktail and hot and cold hors' divers (lol) 860.00 Bought wedding week survival kits from anothet bdw bride 25.00 Only doing oot bags for wedding party. Guest will recievd messsge in as bottle favors 31.00 Save the date /50 for 6.00 (shutterfly) had 20.00 coupon from davids bridal. My dress 199.90 from davids bridal. Only one left lije it in entire chain. For my photos we decided to do custom weddi g disosable cameras. Allkw guest to take picture as they see us and pass around and we go develop.. made it little more personable. U did opt to do cudtom invites. Because I hobedtly didn't want to do. I chose passport invitarions with boardi g pass rsvp.264.00 so I've still kept it pretty low

I actually worked out a really good price with my travel agent; My length of stay has a significant impact on my accommodation cost. I found that BMP has some of the lowest all inclusive pricing in the area that offers style that I am looking for.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
