Any NYC brides?

I read of all the people having an AHR for people that did not attend the DW, first of all, the reason for a DW is not to spend a fortune and have something more intimate and fun for everyone, and second, if you couldn't make an effort, having 18 months notice to attend my wedding, why will I make an effort to celebrate with you? No thank you!

i agree with you ladies. My fI dad brought that up and i was not happy at all. I gave my guests more then enough time to save and decide if they will be going to our wedding. My reason for a DW is to keep it intimate and thats my plan. Sorry to say but if they cant make it then they cant make it.

Another NYC bride in the house! I'm Dominican and my FI is Filipino so both sides of our families are huge!  My FI's uncle got married 2 years ago and they told us they spend well over $40,000!  (and they had a lot of DIY projects)  We can't afford that so we opted for a DW.  My FI loves Punta Cana and is fascinated with the all inclusive aspect of the resort LOL.  We love the ocean, the serenity and beauty that Punta Cana offers.  And DR is so much fun!  I live in Brooklyn ladies.  It would be fun to meet in person and exchange ideas.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
