Im the first one out of my group of friends to have a DW and they are all excited lol

Haha my friends too! I think it would just be great to have something small where everyone can just be relaxed and have a great time without splurging a ton on decorations. The beautiful beaches totally take care of that for you..and the all inclusive factor is enough to make anyone happy ;). Where/When are you having your wedding?

Hi Ladies!

Im a NYC Bride as well. Getting married at the Jellyfish Restaurant in Punta Cana exactly a year from today (so excited)!. Is anyone working with a local travel agent? I'd like to compare prices between travel agents and obviously go with the one that gets the best deal.

I'm getting quotes from Wright Travel agency and just got quoted for Liberty Travel and it was such a difference so it is very good to shop around for quotes especially if it costs you nothing. You just have to be patient!

I'm from NYC as well... i got engaged about a month ago and don't know where to start in planning a destination wedding!!

I know i want something all inclusive, preferably with a church/chapel on site... however I would like to refrain from Cancun and Punta Cana (because we've vacationed there many times and it seems to have lost the excitement).  Any suggestions?

I live in PA but I am from New York. Most of my family is still in New York so I go to NY very often (especially during summer time). I am getting married on July 19th 2014. Majestic Elegance for the ceremony and the reception will be at the Jellyfish Restaurant. My parents are from the Dominican Republic, so have traveled there since I was a little girl. I also chose to have a DW because both mine and my fiancés families are huge!! It would easily cost over 40k to have our wedding in NY. I love the idea of having a DW. Itâ€s a week of paradise with your closest friends and family and the icing on the cake is your wedding! I canâ€t wait!!! I visited Majestic Elegance last summer and it was amazing!!!

I am getting married at Moon Palace, they have a beautiful chapel there, is a gazebo with AC enclosed in glass, so you are in a chapel and can still have the beautiful ocean view.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
