Oh, I didn't even realize Rockhouse was in Negrilsad.gif I guess if we find a place we really really love, we can go to Negril. I just didn't want to make the trip from Ocho Rios to Negril for just a few nights. I'll check out Tensing Pen now...thanks!

Tom was in Iraq while I was wedding planning ... so after we decided on the DR, I researched different resorts and emailed him info on my top 5 choices. He picked his top 2 (which happened to be my top 2 as well) and we decided to go with the least expensive one for the DW and the most expensive one for our HM. They are both in the DR.

Lizz - I'm not sure how far it is, but have you looked into Treasure Beach? I think its probably a shorter trip from OR than Negril is (though I'm not sure). Check out Jake’s Resort in Treasure Beach, Jamaica and Marblue Villa Suites in Treasure Beach, Jamaica..

What kind of place are you looking for? More secluded, AI, big resort?

Heidi - we're staying at Sunset for half our honeymoon. It looks awesome! I will definitely report back!

well, we knew we were going to Hawaii - that was always Paul's "dream" to honeymoon in Hawaii. i kind of put him in charge of the details though - he'd ask me what i thought, like "what about 2 nights in Oahu and 6 in Maui?" and we'd talk about it. but really, he did the planning and the work. and he needed me to actually book the hotels since i used all of my Marriott points - but other than that, it was all him!

FI and I are going to do a mini-moon and I am going to plan it. I am actually not going to tell him where we are going so it will be a complete surprise for him. Since we will be married in Cancun, I was thinking of Villa Rolandi on Isla Mujeres or head south to Ana Y Jose in Tulum. Decisions, decisions.

We definitely want something smaller and more intimate. The RIU is huge and I feel like we're going to be with so many people for so many days, that we'll just want to get away on our own after our guests leave. It doesn't matter if it's an AI or not. I'll check Jake's and Marblue out...thanks!!!

Another great one is Sunset at the Palms, you should check that out too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
