Hey ladies hows it all going?

I'm feeling a little bit more organised now - still have some little things left to sort out like shoes, my hair, and booking the photographer but i'm going to leave that until after christmas... I keep thinking as soon as christmas has been and gone its basically here lol. We had our email from Thomson requesting our certified documents last week so have booked an appointment with the solicter, does anyone one know if a copy of birth certificate would be ok? my partner doesn't have his original.

:) xx

Me neither but I'm not until May 2014, decided to do it after Xmas along with getting my sons passport. As I didn't want to risk it getting lost in the Xmas post. I still feel like I have so much to but I'm sure I'll get a wriggle on after Xmas lol xx

Aww let me know if you like I can forward you the email that they sent us? at least u know what to expect then. The solicitor has quoted me and brendon Â£11 each to do birth certificate and passport certification (think this must be a good price!!) ... wonder why Thomson not emailed you it? ... lets just hope that they send them over to Jamaica in time lol!

Hi Guys,

I just stumbled across this post as me and my wife are also from the UK. Would like to congratulate everyone in advance.

I did not read every post as I would be here all day lol, but I would say the resort is amazing and make sure you write it down in detail how you would like your day to go as we met a couple who got married and from what they said it went all wrong as the times were off and the flowers were wrong etc.

Anyways good luck :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi guys

I'm getting married on the 20th Jan, its really coming round fast now.

I'm really struggling on what songs to have at the ceremony, I know that I want Bruno Mars 'marry you' to walk in to but not sure on the rest, any suggestions?

I'm planning on having a cocktail hour after our photos, but im just a bit worried guests will fill up on appetizers and then not be hungry for the sit down meal....

How is everyone's plans coming along? Really keen to hear your ideas and to chat with other brides =))

Hi Jenny!

Welcome! :)

20th Jan... that is going to come around before you know it! Have you had much contact with the wedding coordinator at the GP? I haven't been assigned a coordinator yet but then our wedding isn't until April.

Hmm not sure on the songs, I've been struggling with this for the reception... we are having the steel band for the ceremony but just started making my playlist now :) . Like the sound of Bruno Mars for your ceremony!

You having your ceremony on the beach or Gazebo?

Like the idea of the cocktail hour, recon guests will love it! We did think about doing it but things have added up so much that we decided to find someone ourselves for drinks before reception.

Yes my WC is called Lorraine, I was assigned her about 3 weeks ago and she is much faster on the email replies, 1-3 days. I keep sending her a million questions and she sends good replies. We are getting married at the gazebo, it was the view that got me, hope its as good as it looks. Been and bought my tiara today, made me feel like a princess trying it on, really making it feel real now. Also my wedding dress box arrived from Thompson today too. How are your plans comin along? Where abouts are you getting married? Are you having a reception? xxxx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
