Hey Hey Hey!

My name is Stephanie and I currently have tentative date of Aug 31, 2014. I was looking towards Hawaii but now I'm leaning more towards Mexico. I hope to have our location pinned down by the end of March (So, next week)

Backgroud: My FI and I met when I was in 6th grade, him in 7th. I was instantly head over heels in love with him but was either too scared to tell him, he had a girlfriend or the timing just wasn't right. We were best friends and totally inseperable from ages 12/13 until ages 21/22 when he left for the Marines. I went on and got married as did he. Things happen for a reason though because in June 2010 his wife suddenly left him, with no warning. In July 2010 I finally left my marraige to an abusive alcoholic. In August 2010 my FI's father passed away. I received the call from a mutal friend and went to the wake. I walked in and the world stopped, fireworks were going off and there were stars in my eye's. I saw my FI for the first time in 10 years and once again it was love at first sight. Thankfully for me, this time he felt it too. We have literally be inseperable since that day in Aug, 2010. He has been in Afghanistan the past year and leaves again shortly to go back for another year.

I have 2 children from my previous marraige. Last week we were in California in Disneyland when he surprised me with a proposal in front of a fountain with my children there. One of the Disney photopass photographers was able to capture the entire proposal.

Well, there's my not so brief introduction.

Congratulations, and welcome to BDW!!!! Disneyland is the best place to get married :) You will find this website so helpful in planning and narrowing down your destination and hotel. I'm fairly new on here myself, but I can't tell you how valuable the info on here is for your planning. Because of BDW we've been able to narrow down the hotel, create a budget, and compiled lists of local vendors who will help us have our dream wedding at half the cost of a wedding in the states :) Now we just need to pick a date, lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
