Majestic Colonial 2014

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone, I'm freaking out a little cause I really want our wedding at Majestic Colonial, but don't want our guest to have to re-mortgage their houses to afford it! I've seen a lot of posts that people have been getting a TA to get group rates and start booking about a year in advance. We are getting married April 17th, 2014 at Majestic Colonial with the majority of our guests departing from Toronto, Ontario. So we decided to try to get some pricing for travel but it is around $2000 PER PERSON (7-days including flights and hotel). I have been to Majestic before and never paid anywhere close to this price. Does anyone think it is just too early to book anything and also, if you have guest flying from Toronto, what prices did you get? Maybe I need to find a better TA.

Hi,

I just got some quotes this week for Majestic Colonial from Toronto for March 2014. The quotes I have received ranged from $1475-1800 depending on the day (cheapest was departing mid-week and not around march break).  My TA said there is no competition between the companies to book this early so no one is offering deals.  She also said with whatever company it was (signature maybe) every 15th person is free (just have to pay the taxes) so could knock around $100 off each person if you had 30 guests going.

That does seem really high for April though... I don't know if it would be better to wait another month and see what the price does... only problem is if the weddings get booked up at the resort.

Hi - We booked at the Colonial for Feb 9-16 and we have received a fuel saver discount through Sunwing for $160 a person for the tax.  Our guests are paying around $1600 a person for a junior suite.  Kids are $1100 each.

Hi ladies! I'm getting married April 2nd 2014 at the Majestic Colonial. I want a civil ceremony but I asked for a date confirmation from the civil judge since the beginning of January.... 3 months ago and still no news from him! Is there anybody else in the same situation? Does anybody received a confirmation from the civil judge in Punta Cana for her wedding in 2014???

Did you ask your wc? I wonder if they would know. I'm only doing a symbolic ceremony. I feel like they should have at least replied back by now.
Yes I'm constently in contact with my WC but she says that the civil judge will open his 2014 agenda "soon"... that's since the beginning of January... I can't wait to have it all confirm! :)

I am currently in the process of booking my wedding for April 16th, 2014. We have guests leaving from Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Toronto. We currently only have our quote for Newfoundland and it is approximately $1800. I feel like Toronto is usually cheaper. If you do end up booking your wedding, I will see you there :)

MC-Colonial....I found the same thing in waiting for judge schedule to open. I tried for a civil ceremony (for March 2014) & waited for a judge reply (via WC) since Jan.  We have since decided to marry at home (Canada) secretly then a symbolic one in MC. We immediately got booked and we were off & running. It took a bit of convincing the FI but the symbolic ceremony can mimic a civil one so closely that nobody will know & it will still feel. The marriage at home is just a formality, sign papers & done. No kiss or rings. Best decision thus far... besides the man, of course! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
