2014 Sandos Playacar Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My fiance and I have booked Sandos Playacar.  I have seen a few threads however they are pretty old.  I am looking for new info and reviews on the Resort.  We are having out wedding on May 28, 2014 at 4:00PM.  Is that a good time?  Also looking for info regarding dinner on the beach vs. in a restaurant.  Also cocktail hour and more.  At this point any info is greatly appreciated.  cheesy.gif

Hi Bride2B2,

First, big congrats on the upcoming wedding and on choosing a destination! May is a good weather month in Playa del Carmen and it's nice to have the longer days of daylight savings time. It is a busy time in Playa too, so you may want to take that into consideration. Starting the ceremony a little later in the day (5:30) may help you avoid too many people around AND allow you to get some nice sunset shots. We shot a pretty wedding there with Bev and Jordan and they chose the gazebo over the beach and it was nice to have a little added intimacy/privacy. The hotel should offer a champagne toast after the ceremony for your guests. Most all inclusives (like Sandos) have the receptions in the restaurant, though for a fee you could have them do a beach set up. I would also recommend setting a seating time of around 7:00 after a 5:30 ceremony to keep things moving along and active.

Here are a few photos of weddings we have shot at Sandos Playacar. For the full slideshows, please click here for Bev and Jordan, here for Melissa and Jason and here for Susan and Michael

@@DianaSRZ I think the travel time from the airport is 45minutes. at least thats what i've read.

Im planning my wedding for January 2015, and so far SAndos playacar is my favourite option. Anyone have details or pictures  reception locations? Im planning on going with the package that includes the 3hour private dinner reception with DJ.

Any reviews or details would be helpful!  THanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
