2013 Playacar Palace Brides!

Hola!

I thought I would start a general Playacar Palace 2013 thread as the other ones seemed to be month specific.

I am getting married at the Playacar Palace in November 2013, currently have around 45 confirmed guests. The resort is already completely booked for the first two days of our stay, meaning that friends/family who have not yet booked are now booking two days into the stay, and staying two days longer. Everyone had plenty of time to book though, so not much we can do! We knew this was a possibility when booking with a boutique resort. Some of our family and friends will be staying off of the resort and we will be getting them day passes for the wedding.

I'm interested to hear where people are planning to have their ceremony and reception. I was planning for the beach for the ceremony and then the area by the pool for the reception, but need to have a back up plan in case it decides to rain on our parade!

Are you using an outside wedding coordinator, or just using the decorations that they are providing?

Congratulations ncrillo :) I'm getting married in November too (the 10th) and facing the same problem! All of our blocked rooms have been booked and guests are still coming in. I'm praying that some rooms will get released somehow. As of now we are just suggesting that our guests either stay near by or at Moon Palace so they can visit Playacar without a fee. I feel awful, but wasn't expecting it to sell out so quickly!

As for our wedding, we are planning a beach ceremony and then the reception at one of the patios. I haven't spoken to the wedding coordinator yet. I can't wait for the day to get all the details planned! We've booked our photographer (Del Sol) and DJ (Doremixx) and now moving onto cupcakes and florists. I'd like to have a general idea before planning with the resort wedding coordinator.

Are you all set with your vendors? Have you gotten around the outside vendor fees?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
