TTD Dress..How Much?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how much you paid for your TTD dress for those of you that chose to get a second gown?

I'm on the fence. On the one hand, I don't much care if my wedding gown is "ruined". But on the other, I'm thinking that getting a second gown is a valid excuse to be able to wear TWO dresses that I really like instead of having to just pick one, ya know?

So, I kind of decided to go ahead and get a second dress, if I could find it cheap so I started browsing the Ebay manufacturers....I figure if it isn't perfect, so what, its the TTD dress. BUT, the more I looked the more I found some gowns that I sorta liked, but the ones that I REALLY liked are still several hundred bucks. Figures. I never pick the cheap stuff even when I'm trying dammit. SO, I guess the real question is for those of you on a budget more or less who got a second dress, how much did you pay for it? I see some that are pretty..beautiful in fact, that you can get for under $200. But the one isn't one of them.

I have a whole TTD saga. I got 2 dresses on Ebay (total about $100) but neither was really right so I ended up buying a dress from DB for $99 and then having the straps taken up or another $30 so total $129, and I'm selling the other 2 dresses.

Here's the online/super affordable DB line:

I found mine on eBay (same size and designer as my real WD) and I got it for $76!! No alterations necessary (I could get it taken in a bit, but figure no sense spending the extra money for the TTD ... especially when you won't be able to tell in the pics!

i got one for $99 - but the only reason i got a 2nd dress was because i didn't want my "real" dress to get trashed, since the plan is to sell it. i really wanted to do my TTD pics in my real dress, since i think that would make them more "special" - i think you should use your real dress!

I'm not doing TTD, but try looking on Nordstrom.com: Designer Collections and Top Apparel, Shoe and Beauty Brands in their wedding section. They have a lot of cute inexpensive dresses. Also, try J.Crew - Cashmere, sweaters, dresses, children's clothing & gift cards, BananaRepublic.com: Modern Apparel, Handbags, Shoes, and Accessories, even (who would have thought!) Welcome to Target!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
