Hello! You're right, it is creeping up fast! I guess I'm starting to get a little nervous that I haven't figured out all the little details yet. I think my groomsmen will just wear white linen shirts, khakis, and either sandals or sperrys. Found a cake topper on etsy that I might get that is made out of wire and says "we do". As far as other decor goes, I have burlap table runners and peach napkins, we're going to do white flower centerpieces. I think I may also do shell place card holders and possibly some paper lanterns. Still have no idea what to do with my hair!!! I Wanted to wear it down, but i'm freaking out a bit thinking about the wind/humidity....Maybe I could wear it down for the ceremony and sweep it into a low casual bun for the reception?? What details have you pinned down so far??!!

Congrats to all of the 2014 brides! I am getting married Jan. 18, 2014 in Jamaica at Sunset Beach Resort and Spa in Mo' Bay. Would love to hear how things are going for you all. I know I am starting to stress about the little things, but my excitement takes over and I just remember it won't be long until I am the new Mrs., which for me has been 2 years in the making (we woke up about a month ago and said lets go to Jamaica so I am definitely way behind!). But good luck to you all.

Woohoooo congrats!!! Great time to start planning, I'm January 18th too!! I honestly would've been a nervous wreck planning a wedding in Mexico if it weren't for all the helpful tips from this site....as far as OOT bags, if you put OOT bags into the search bar you can find a TON of links to OOT bags that people have done, and usually they give great money saving tips on where to buy stuff :)

Keep us updated on your planning!!

Thanks for the advice on the OOT bags. YAY! We are going to share the same day...Keep me posted on your planning... I would love to hear how things are going...I agree with the WC at the resort, I finally started leaning on her more this past week and she has been wonderful...so the nerves are definitely subsiding and the excitement is taking over...The count down is on only about 4 months to go....

Hello January brides! Your big days are coming up soon, you must be getting so excited! This post is for any brides getting married in the Mayan Riviera, Mexico...

I'm a newlywed from Vancouver, Canada that lives down here in Playa Del Carmen. I have quite a few decor items leftover from our wedding in May, mostly in a rustic vintage style. I've decided to rent things out to brides that don't want to lug things like vases & mason jars down here to Mexico, and have priced things quite fairly compared to the resorts' prices. I have a lots of different types of bottles, mason jars, vases and lanterns, as well as a variety of other items like wooden signs & frames, rustic birdcages, string lighting and even a portable sound system.

If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding in Mexico without a huge price tag, I'm your gal! I'm also always interested in buying items that brides bring down and would like to sell after their weddings.

If you'd like to see some photos and a price list, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the info. Also if anyone has any questions about the area, ask away! I've lived in Playa Del Carmen for two years and know the area quite well. Happy planning ladies!

Here's a couple of photos of some items we used in our wedding and that are for rent:

Hello! I'm currently working on music for the ceremony, trying to pick songs for the girls to walk to, and myself, and then a song for us to walk up the aisle after the ceremony. I'm also anxiously awaiting the arrival of my wedding dress....they're cutting it close I tell ya! I've been told it should be here in 2 weeks and then I'll have my fitting. Can't wait! I also have started to think about a welcome letter/brochure to add to the OOT bags. There's so many little details! Where are you at right now?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
