I'm thinking of doing white/coral, or white/blush, with a vintage feel. Not sure exactly how i'm going to blend that in. I went dress shopping unexpectedly (i was in sweatpants, no makeup, and had my glasses on) with my mom a few weekends ago "just to look". My original plan was to pay this lady on Etsy to make a replica of the dress I thought I wanted. Well, once I got THE dress on I couldn't take it off and had to buy it. Ohhhh well, going to have to save money somewhere else.

I haven't really figured out any of the other details yet, though I'm trying to decide what I want to do for DIY centerpieces bc there is no way I'm paying >$200 per table. Sent my save the dates out friday!!!!!

How about you, how far into planning are you guys?!

Welcome!!   How is planning going?  Great to hear from another January bride :)

Planning is soooo slow. I am impatient. I like everything done..yesterday...lol

We have booked the time and place but we had issues with our trip provider. We werent happy with some things and now we want to switch ...what a headache.

I started oot bags...love finding deals.

My invitations were sent out about a month ago via email.

How about you ladies? (and any men out there doing the planning?)

Oh...hit enter too soon! Save the dates are going out next week. Invites will be out by June 1. We are inviting 40 ppl and expect most to come. I am having a hard time figuring out what to do for the oot. But hoping inspiration strikes soon :) What colors is everyone doing? We are going bright: purple and teal!

Hi brides of Jan 2014!

Congrats!  I loved UMass's dress finding story! So cute!  The weather here in January is generally warm and sunny with water temps around 77F.  Very swimming-friendly!  We occassionally get some North winds come through that can be a little chilly but make for some great sleeping temperatures! Just remember to bring a light sweater out at night.

For year-round information about the local weather, check out our CLIMATE - FAQ.

Happy Planning!

Awwww 25 is also my ideal number. I felt so bad doing a destination wedding at first, because I know some can't go, but we might have a little reception in Michigan (where some family and friends are) after we get back. Haha we invited a lot, and a lot we know for sure won't even come, but didn't want them to feel left out. I don't think I know 137 people hahahaha ;) ;)

I am so glad you found the dress you wanted. I just bought my dress on Saturday...eeeepppp I wasn't going to spend much on a gown because I wanted to do Trash the dress but I ended up falling in love with something too and had to get it...I agree with spending money elsewhere :) I tried on a lot of dresses and soooo knew this is what I had been looking for. Oh my gosh...the centerpieces are redonkulous!! I couldn't even believe it! We sent save the dates out today...oops :/ Are you doing invites?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
