Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Starting to plan my destination wedding for june 2015. Paraiso lindo is one of our options along with Now Sapphire. Im going in May for 5 days and hoping to inspect a couple of places. Question, how do you get the group rates? Through the hotel directly or travel agency? Thank you !

We are getting married at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso i July and they actually told us to use a travel agent because they would handle the group rates better then the hotel would directly. We saw other hotels that were giving us group rates but the rates weren't as good and they wouldn't budge very much. Good luck

@@Pitita the hotel will not negotiate with you directly.  I ran into this problem when booking my wedding in 2010 at Now Jade Riviera Cancun, which ultimately led me to become a travel agent! :-)  Should have became a sales agent, since three of my guests purchased timeshares at Now Jade, one guest proposed and had their wedding there the following year.

Anyways, I'd be happy to check group rates for you.  I'm working on a girlfriend's wedding at the moment and am helping her research resorts.  Iberostar Paraiso is a runner up for the "family friendly" option.  :-)

Whatever you do, do not sign a contract committing to a number of rooms booked!

Cheers,

Jen

Hi ladies!! Headed down for a site visit next month to decide where I want to book. I've stayed at the Lindo twice before and loved it but Iberostar may be off my "to visit" list as Deisy told me the only places they offer for ceremonies is the beach or Plaza across the street for 50 people. I had hoped for more than those 2 options...does anyone know if there are other ceremony sites that have been used?

Hi, i was wondering how your visit went. Did they tell you what are the options for the reception?

Thanks!

I ended up visiting Dreams Riviera Cancun, Barcelo Palace, and Riu Palace Riviera Maya and decided to go with Dreams. I didn't go to Iberostar because I didn't like the ceremony or reception options at the Lindo or Maya and I can't ask my guests to pay the Grand's rates, though the Grand is absolutely beautiful.

Does anyone know how much it costs to extend the reception party? I want to have a private dinner and reception with dancing for about 5 hrs (7pm-1am).

Also, I want to have a private rehearsal dinner for all my guests. How much does that cost?

Thanks in advance! It's really hard to get straight answers to some questions from the resort.. but everyone here has been super helpful! I'm trying to set a budget and narrow down my resort options but it's so hard to compare costs between resorts.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi so I am getting the silver package with an upgrade to the private dinner reception, only Paola just let me know a sound system/iPod hookup is not included. So I'm assuming I only have the option to hire a dj? Anyone have any quotes for how much the dj cost at iberostar paraiso?

We're getting married at the Iberostar Grand and although we are also having a private reception in one of the restaurants they will not extend the reception past 11pm..even when we offered to pay for more hours. We figure 4 hours is probably enough though and everyone can head to one of the bars afterwards to continue the celebration.

We are having a private beach welcome dinner the night before and they gave us a list of Theme Menus that cost anywhere from $25-$50 per person. That doesn't include music, seating or entertainment; just food and drinks. Not sure if the other Iberostar hotels will have similar options.

Hope that helps!

We're getting married at the Iberostar Grand and doing the dream package. We had the option of 2 DJ's. They ranged from $950-$1250 for 4 hours. I would think all Iberostar hotels offer the same DJ's. Both were great options and have great reviews! Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
