Monica's Planning Thread- Lots of Pics!

Recommended Posts

My husband and I met 5 years ago through my brother. We connected instantly and within a year we moved in together. One of our first weekend getaways was to Atlantic City for my birthday.

Last summer I received a call from my brother asking if I wanted to meet for lunch. We agreed to meet in front of my office around noon. As Iâ€m standing outside waiting for my brother, I see Sean standing in front of our car. I was totally surprised and confused. He tells he has packed our bags and has a weekend getaway planned for us. As we got closer and it was obvious we were heading towards Atlantic City, he tells me he planned this trip for my birthday (which was a few weeks prior) Later that night before dinner he asked if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach. As we are walking on the beach he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It truly was one of the best days of my life!

We knew from the start we wanted a destination wedding, so we started looking at resorts right away. We wanted an island that most of our family/friends havenâ€t been too. We found Iberostar Rose hall suites in Jamaica and fell in love with it. We had stayed at Iberostar in Dominican Republic and loved it so we knew we were making the right choice.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
