So I wanted to update you guys... I received an email from Pilar yesterday and after emailing her back and forth and waiting close to 2 weeks for a confirmation the locations i want are currently booked for the date I wanted. She did offer me the day before but I am very upset... Idk if i should possibly look into another resort b/c this communication issue is making me fear of whats to come...
Go with your gut instinct. :)

Does anyone know how the booking incentive works from NJ? My Travel Agent said for every 5 rooms booked for the wedding you get back 1 room for up to 3x rooms. I am not sure if that means you get back up to a maximum of 3 nights worth? Or 3 weeks? Also I am not sure if this just applies to WestJet Travel bookings or not?

Any info would be great! Thanks :)

Emma,

My TA responded with a bit more detail, can't say I completely understand but here is the info I received! Hope it helps!

"How the promotion works is every 5th room that books you get the 6th room credit (based on double occupancy) back so it has nothing to do with the nights it just means that if you had 20 rooms booked all with double occupancy then you would get back a refund on your credit card for the 6th, 12th and 18th room (pretend that the price is 50% room and 50% flight – since they do not break it down for us) so if it was $1500 per person then $750 per person would be for the room so in a double occupancy room there is 2 x $750 = $1500 so you would get a refund for $4500"

I understand your frustration. I have been waiting 3 weeks for a date confirmation. We have decided to go with another resort. Based on inf o from the other thread communication is horrible and I'm not willing to accept that. It's unfortunate because the resort is beautiful! They're just too busy for me. Good luck!

You just need to pick up the phone (or have your travel agent do it). Most TA's will call and get the wedding date confirmed for you. I had been waiting for a reply, and when I told my TA this, she told me she was going to call right away, and within 15 minutes she had spoken to Pilar, booked and I received a confirmation email!

Thanks! We were told we would need to wait until after final deposits are paid before we knew how much we would be getting back. We will at least have enough for the 6th and 12th rooms, but I have no idea how much the actual refund ends up being (i.e. how much the hotel costs out of the total package price).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
